because the majority of kids have FWD and think yanking the e-brake is the way to drift.

your e-brake shoes are not going to appreciate a bunch of brake handle pulling

You do not need to have a $200k car to have a little fun off roading do you? By your reason...you shouldn't even be driving you're own car because it wasn't FULLY BUILT to take all of your 292hp to the local starbucks and show off to a bunch of teenie boppers.

I'm so sick of single minded ****** who think they know everything.
hmmm
well i daily drive my evo and its never been on a track...

^ wow, you completely misunderstood the power statement, and just because someone has more posts doesn't mean their posts contributed more to the public. It's the quality of the info not quantity. Wasn't it gallas who started the thread? Just pointing out the obvious. Back to studying =X

HAHAHA dumbass...I didn't start the thread. I know a lot...and I know that I still have SO MUCH more to learn. I don't claim to know everything like you seem to be doing. I know how to drive my car btw...I have more track days/autocrosses than you probably have brain cells. I'm just bored of what I've been doing so I was gonna give rally-x a shot and I had the question about using the e-brake for rallying. You seemed to have nothing to add about the question and proceeded to talk nonsense.

Good night.

what happened to the OP?
here's a tip, if you don't know what you're doing, don't try it.
Go to a racing school, they're all over the place, they can help you figure out how to drive your car well. Or at least play GT5 instead of NFS, and watch F1 instead of F&F.

Seems like some of the worst advice ever. If you don't know what you're doing figure it out. All you suffer to lose is money, so as long as you're prepaired to pay for the repairs, go have fun! it's a car, it's not a shrine. I use my e-break to dime-stop/spin the car around all the time! Just this morning I was stuck in traffic and decided a side road a quarter mile back was a better choice. I gassed it, kicked the wheel, yanked the e-break and snap, facing the other direction. I wouldn't do that on dry roads, but on wet roads it slides around quite easily and controllably at very low speeds once the weight shifts.

I'm a huge proponent of experimenting with stuff like that. For one, it removes that "heart pounding excitement/adrenaline" factor, making surviving an emergency situation much more probable. As an example, years ago now, I was in a parking lot around christmas. Some lady came way to fast toward me and started sliding into the corner. My child was in the car and we were talking at the time, I e-breaked the car around and out of her way with inches to spare and never stopped the conversation. Meanwhile my kids are so used to me doing "stupid" things with them in the car that she didn't even stop talking. Years ago that would have left me studdering, heart racing, or worse, drivers door caved in.

It's through trial, acclimation, and aclimatization that we get better at absolutely everything.

So let the kids e-break drift and bust their rear ends. No one's telling you that you have to, and years from now when they grow up and have children they'll be way better drivers because of it, after they've outgrown it.
