Added some flavor and lowered chances to get pulled over
Installed the front brace to the Evo 8 and fab'd up a floating front plate mount from scraps; trying to lower the chances of getting pulled over while in Cali. Settled for the black. Before the install. About to get started. Buttoned the brace into the evening. How the front looks now with the brace and floating licence plate mount.
Man I am so jealous of you guys. All of your cars are so clean and in good shape. I had to do some major workings on my car to make it look nice but i don't think it will look as nice as any of your guys cars. As for my car and what I did, I had all the rust removed and undercoated along with paint match and a good detail. That and Weir restack, new csf rad, redid the heat reflecting tape on my intercooler pipes. Once I get the car back I will get my hot parts ceramic coated. Lots of changes since last time it ran.
SS Brake Lines:// Oneman Job:// flushed with DOT 4 ATE 200
Finally got around to install the SS lines and flushed the system with DOT4 ATE TYP200. The job was WAY easier than I thought and the brake feel/improvement is really noticeable. The Evo is pretty much a "Friday " and weekend errands driver (no track), but having the increased confidence with brakes feels... GREAT! Over 100k miles; a good pressure washing treatment should be really good. ATE 200
Doing the brake bleed myself... (SAD FACE) Easier than i thought!

Reason: Spelling error
On my 4th Evo and doing my second JDM rear bumper install. Did my first one back in 2007. Everything was easier on my brand new Evo 9.
Already had the bumper painted. Got a new STM cat back exhaust made for the JDM rear. Have to remove the HKS HiPower on there now. Rusted bolts are giving me hell. About to angle grind the mid pipe bolts off. Also had to get a Boosted Fabrications registration bracket since the OEM one is rusted out.
Registration bracket is completely toast New rear fender liners and OEM bolts/parts and a new exhaust hanger.
I had no idea that the JDM rear bumper install required that much work. Thank you for the insight!
pre2dat, it's not quite a remove and replace. You have to figure out what do do for a core support and a license plate mount. Not too bad. I did it on my Apex silver IX 2 years ago in 1 day. I live in SD country by the way. Ramona to be exact.
Depending on the state of your vehicle it's usually not too bad. If the exhaust bolts weren't fighting me so much I'd be much further along and if the license plate bracket wasn't in such poor condition I could have easily drilled the rivets out and mounted it up higher and been done.
