My line would have to be drawn at how often it drives on the street. If you are not driving it around town at least 2 days a week i don't see it as a street car

Oh wait, same car...#@*$ it.

Its a strace car. Gets driven to track/event, raced, driven home (and everywhere else I go).

I agree with that to a point.

Hell, Sheps Talon is plated and insured last time I checked. And I hate to disagree but a 7 second talon isnt a street car. lol

Having a street car to me means having a car that can be legally (for the most part) and comfortably driven on the street on a daily basis. Test pipes doesn't mean it can't be a street car. If it does, then a car with a broken turn signal lens can't be a street car. It's all up to the operator of the car whether or not it's a "street" car.

Race car - A vehicle that meets the regulations of the competition it is targetting, and has built/modified enough to stay competitive and/or can win. A Miata with a rollcage can be a race car.

Street car - Meets emissions and safety standards, can be registered legally. 911 GT3 RS can be a street car.

Street car is different in everyone's eyes. However, there is a huge difference between a Street car and a Street LEGAL car. Just because it has plates and headlights doesn't make a car a street car in my opinion.

My definition of a street car:

Air conditioning, full seats, headlights, wipers, stock windows, etc.

For me, a street car should have mild manored charactoristics. Reasonable gas mileage, comfort, reliability, not so harsh, etc.

It really depends on the person.

Race Car vs Street Car... Anything that would get you pulled over instantly example no headlights, lexan windows, open side firing exhaust, no taillights, chute for the strip and similar would be a race car, everything else if you can drive by a cop and not get instantly pulled over (without further inspection) would be a street car. (Exhaust loudness is not to play a part)

Ask a domestic guy who is making 1000 on pump w/ a/c if any evo on this site that runs 9's is a street car.. same results.. its all a matter of opinion, there is no Facts.. PERIOD..

I view of both are:

Street car= must be able to daily drive, comfortable, have all OEM equipment....mildly tuned with bolt-on performance parts.

Race car= Heavily tuned or modify, may not able to daily drive, gutted for less weight, No cosmetic parts, Stiff suspension, stickier tires and etc..

for me there are some mods for a race car !!!
you need good handling so you need some coilovers , then you need to be safe if a crash occurs so you may need a roll cage!!!

power depends of the car you drive and the weight it has HP=Potency
some cars are lighter so you need less HP,S!!!!

Real race cars dont have rear seats or A/C to get them lighter and faster , but thats only me speaking !!!

my evo has rear seats and A/C but for me its my race car !!!! and i love my EVO!!
