To me the epitome of a street car has to be one of our customers cars. Jared (semtex23) on the board. He has a 2.3RR GT850R CNC head on pump gas running over 500whp on just some moderate boost (24 psi I think) that car is a monster, super clean and a joy to drive. Not to mention you can toss C16 in it and crack off a 9 sec pass.

If you cant hear yourself think let alone talk then I think the street car thing is out of the window.

To Mike at AWD. Ivan was not starting this to get someone to agree on something. He just wanted to hear peoples opinions on what they think a street car is.

Well IMO this thread has been covered as much as " What oil to use ".. Again just my opinion..

Here is my opinion on a street car..

Any car that can make it 100 miles w/o stopping, has Glass windows, headlights and tailights.. Thats a street car.. I dont care if it has one seat.. Its a street car, an uncomfortable one but still a street car..

A "street car" has to be street legal. So in one state the same street car would be a race only car.
"The man", in his youth had this debate. When he grew up, he made a law to end the debate.

Here's how to sum it up:

A street car is a vehicle in which you can hand the keys to your wife/girlfriend/lover and they can drive the car for a week without getting annoyed

A race car will annoy them within the first 10 minutes due to sound, lack of AC, radio, working windows, etc etc, then you know it's a race car

i basically think a street car is good to drive everyday and good for the occasional street race and a race car is a dedicated car with tons and tons of custom parts that make it uncomfortable for daily use... even the interior has to be fully functional to be a street car.

I guess a 107hp Civic CX with roll up windows, no sound deadening and a broken A/c is automatically a race car..

well, by LAW, u gotta have all your mirrors, side mirrors, review, 1 seat is OK, glass windows, a car that you can track along with going to the store. but whats the point.
IF you can afford a fully built track car, why use it to go get groceries, id use my C55 AMG...

if it has plates or not and is ever driven on a race track it then becomes a "race car" and can never be dethrone to the "streetcar" status, EVER...
