Is it really possible for an Evo to be a sleeper?
I wanna do a car as a sleeper. Stock height, stock exhaust with QTP or ATP cut out, S2s (gonna have to be a IX to hide the lope), stock UICP and elbows, meth, stock airbox but hacked bottom with a cone filter inside, ported stock exhaust manifold, Red, O2 housing but reuse the factory heat shield, etc.
I think you could build a 500whp car that would look like a 100% stock Evo. The thing is even then some people know enough to fear the Evo if it were stock. Sleeper is only good for keeping the cops away or making money.

its not possible for an evo to be a sleeper since most people know they come from factory quick. but you can definitey have a 550 hp evo without a side dump exhaust that people wont expect puts out that much power
honeslty im amazed how 90% percent of people ask me what my car is and if not they ask me if it is a subaru(it is blue)lol.....even with my exhaust I rarely arrouse attention....I recieved 10 times more attention in my little red kitted crx.....so sleeper? YES....o and for the record wingless FTW

I live in south florida, and everyone can tell a evo from a mile away... yeah it'll look like a lancer w/out the wing, what about the front and back fender flares, and the 235's on all fours??? like they can't see the brembo's when they're next to you at the light....gimme me a break, everyone knows what a evo is, given no wing might attract less attention from authorities or ignorant people, the average 16 yr old+ will recognize the evo from need4speed undercover or something like that...
Keep the outside stock, retain the stock airbox, DP with an electric cutout or a stealthy cat delete and resonated exhaust, FP Green or Red, meth in the rear side panel, black LICP, good pads and fluids, ECU controled boost and tune, Instant sleeper. Inside / outside / underhood looks just like a stock Evo.
I dont really think our cars are sleepers but to make sure that people know mine isnt Im getting the lopiest idle front facing turbo kit and loud *** exhaust. That should let them know im not a sleeper

There are some people up here who have no idea what an EVO from the factory is capable of as they have never been on our roads before. So really, they are all sleepers up here as far as most cops or the general populace is concerned but the car enthusiasts tend to get the awe/confusion/denial bit.
Mind you, there was that toll operator in NY who told me that my car was not an EVO because he was convinced it was a Neon with a bodykit LOL.

I would for sure say that pulling off the wing would create less attention. Ignorant or not at first glace from far behind it looks like a regular lancer...only until you notice bright red brembo brakes
