Is it really possible for an Evo to be a sleeper?
I believe it is possible to make an evo a sleeper. Here are a couple of pics of my car. The one of the front is old and i now have the hood repainted. The clear coat came off. But my intercooler already came powder coated. I dont know how other evos i have passed and either they are too stuck up to say hi or they just dont notice. I drove by one guy in a bby evo the other day and i was waving to him and he didnt notice what the car was till the last second. But oh well if isnt that noticeable to other evo owners then it isnt that noticable to cops either.

If you could truly make an Evo NOT look like an Evo, then it could be sleeper.
It's IMPOSSIBLE. Unless of course you take a hacksaw to your fenders, remove your big *** brakes, replace even the STOCK wheels with some steelies, put a hood with no vent, replace the front bumper with a Lancer one, etc.
Even a stock Evo is relatively quick. So trying to keep it as close to stock looking might win you some money, but in no way is it sleeper. Maybe sleeper compared to other Evos but nowhere else.
Most people that are into the "scene" (be it imports or domestics) know what an Evo is. Of course to anyone else it's gonna look like either some random ricer, regardless if it's attempting to be sleeper or not.

So you run 12.3. This is just an example. Your at a light and an Evo pulls up to you and starts revving and what not, and running his mouth to you. He has a stock wing, CE28N rims, CF Hood and trunk, thats all. Could you honestly tell me what he runs?
FYI.. This Evo that pulled up to you, runs 9.2
Didn't expect that, or anywhere near that number did ya?! This is exactly what happened to me, although my car runs high 10's, I didnt expect that to happen, although later after the race I found out it was my friend's cousin's car. hahaha :P
Super duper sleeper was my Galant VR4.No gauges,No tints stock wheels, even had a stock looking dual tip magnaflow muffler.cams grubled slightly.under the hood it was something else 37r built motor making 610 awhp.my evo is sorta sleeperish as its de winged.
MMM gvr4's and dsm's. Yes an evo can be a sleeper. You can see a stock exterior evo and think it's fast thinking it may run 12's or so when really it's dipping into the 9's. But that's for the enthusiasts.
If an average joe see's a winged evo they're likely to think its a beast. But all of a sudden a stripped rs in a common color goes by and they'll think nothing of it.

It doesn't matter if they don't know what it is. Its like a kid seeing your car on the highway riding in a soccer mom minivan. Even they'll realize it's something more than a civic with a park bench.
<grin> Wanna bet? Not even car guys know what it is without a wing. Pedestrians, other motorists, and cops (!) ,regardless of age, almost never taker a second look, if even a first. Mind you, that was with a highly noticeable, well-detailed red RS. With a wing'd, somewhat sublime-looking GG SE - as opposed to the c@cksucker red RS - I can hardly make it a mile without being spotted in no uncertain terms.

Read my above posts, i never said a wingless evo will be spotted by everyone. I stated that an mr/gsr or a winged evo will likely never be taken as a sleeper. I also stated that if a plain jane colored rs we're to drive by it would most likely never even receive a glance.
No problemo buddy. You didn't need to apologies. But I'm glad to see there are still people that don't turn everything into a ***** fight. There's a lot of that going on around here.
