im into this fantastic, super handling, super fast EVO for over four years now, before the EVO i went thru cars every 6-12 months, i guess non of them were are fun as the EVO.

Two more years and im gonna turn the BIG 40.
im saying to myself that no other car can replace my EVO in fun, so im gonna just keep her forever.

who's gonna keep her forever?

03 original owners chime in, your in this longer

recently my evo blew the engine in pretty bad way
and dispite that im gonna keep my evo as long as i live
my kids that are now 2 and 5 years old are gonna drive it
of course if God let me.

the evo is reliable to a point. once u start making power theres always stuff that is goin to break or go wrong. its hard to keep a certain amount of hp for a while after looking at all the new performance parts that come out every year. i thought about keeping my car for a while but im planning on selling it actually really soon . i had my car for about 2 years now every bolt on with e85 for a while now and its coming to the point where if i want to make more power i would have to change the turbo. the evo's a fun car to drive but alot of maintenance to keep it running right. i was thinkin about trading it for the 2008 acura tl type s. what do u guys think?

I will happily commute a cavalier to keep miles off my evo, and have considered keeping her forever.

you may need two cars - since this one is high maint.
Acura TL is a good choice - for a cruiser...serious performance difference obviously.
there is nothing out there performance wise, $ for $, that can match this
not in the plans to get rid of this car - barring personal economic meltdown - nearly paid off so that scenario is out the door too! whew!
overly inflated Ebay prices are around $24-$25K...not bad considering I thought it wouldnt be worth $15K right now.
(no, this is not an investment, guys, calm down)

I just turned 24 and had my evo since April 2004. I've contemplated getting a more practical car several times but I just couldn't do it. The 03 is pretty rare because it was the first evo in the US (duh), but also the only evo of its time to have no ACD. I'm going to eventually turn it into a race car and maybe my kids will drive it one day. Of course I'd flash the ecu to limit rpm and speed lol.

At my monthly payment, i better be keeping here forever. The wife has an '08 Lancer. My kids are 15 and 14, and they both want to learn how to drive on "dad's evo". Besides, where we live they can get into SCCA pretty soon as well.

right now i feel like keeping it forever, i'd like to get a supra but they are getting so old i'd feel like i am downgrading instead of upgrading, and there is always the possibility of getting a M3 or 335i, maybe a GT-R when i am rich and successful
