Wow, not a bad idea actually. I wonder what the cops would say about it. Have you ever had any trouble/been pulled over for it?

hmmmm. i'm not sure how legal this is. from what i understand at least here in cali it does not suffice to have the front plate displayed on or around the dash or inside the cabin. you can still be ticketed

i had mine done similar to that when my front bracket broke and i got pulled over twice for it. they said in texas it has to be on the front bumper or something like that. but the funny thing is i had a Trans Am for 2 years and had that cover on the front and they never said a thing. and theres like a million vettes running around without a front plate from the factory and nothing is ever said to them either...hmm...

ha well i've never been pulled over for no front plate either and I don't even have it displayed on the dash or anywhere like you have. It's just about luck. Depending on the times of day you drive your car, where you drive, and the individual officers in your area, they might just not care that much. I've been pulled over, without the plate, and the officer didn't even mention it. I've had cops look right at me with no plate, and not stop me. Don't assume that because you haven't been pulled over for it that you can't get pulled over for it....

I run without a front license plate ever since I've had my car. Never been pulled over or anything.

i just keep my plate in my car. when i have been pulled over i just take it out from under my seat and put it on my dash. havent got a ticket yet (have been pullerd over 4-5 times for no plate). i always say i am in the middle of purchasing a bracket and it is on backorder bla bla bla bla. the cops always say "alright, just put it on once you get the bracket, have a good day."

I agree it's all about luck when it comes to driving around with no front plate. I've been at traffic lights with a cop right across from me staring at the front of my car and I haven' t been pulled over. Sometimes they just don't care and frankly I don't blame them. It's a waste of time ticketing someone for no front plate that's going to get thrown out of court anyway.

My theory is, is that if you display a plate in the window then it brings the cops attention that you don't have a plate mounted in the front to begin with then not having a front plate at all, you're pretty much saying "hey look at me I don't have a front mounted plate," instead of not having one at all, not many cops are going to pay attention to a front plate..

its not legal. reason being:

police use your front liscense plate to radar off of.. your glass would relflect it... also why they use the headlight...

pleain and simple, its just asking for trouble... some states dont require a front plate...
