If you dont like the Plates in front
i just keep my plate in my car. when i have been pulled over i just take it out from under my seat and put it on my dash. havent got a ticket yet (have been pullerd over 4-5 times for no plate). i always say i am in the middle of purchasing a bracket and it is on backorder bla bla bla bla. the cops always say "alright, just put it on once you get the bracket, have a good day."
Exactly why my car is registered in Florida!
Should be ok in Texas. I say "should" because the law is not specific, and you will always run across a small town cop who wants to harass you. The Texas law only states that the plate is legible from the front of the vehicle.
+1 about there being some luck involved. Although I've also seen a strong dependence on the time of day. My experience has been that more cops are just itching to pull over an Evo after like 8 or 9pm, probably because there are much fewer drivers out after that in general, and they have less to distract them....
I keep my registered to my house in PA. I live in NJ 90% of the time though. Countless times cops have turned around to get behind me.
I even got pulled over by three different cops at my old NJ apartment stating that I need to get my plates switched ASAP. I told them no I dont (cops dont like that by the way) I have a house in PA where bills go to in my name. I have every right to register my car there so no I don't need to get NJ tags or licensed.
They huff and puff then send me on my way. I know my rights

Believe it is also stated in traffic case law (loosely spoken) somewhere also... so no dice! Now with that, when I do actually run a front plate, it is between the wipers in the lower section of the inside of my windshield. I've never been stopped/cited for that reason with it displayed there. With no front plate, I've been stopped once by a Trooper in deep South Texas, and once on "the wrong side of town" by a local Police Officer. Both times given a "fix it" warning. This is all since getting the Evo early 03'.

Did the same thing to my buddies car after we got pulled over, his dad was a cop and didnt like where the plate was mounted even though i thought it was a pretty badass way to mount it, his dad also made him tear his tint off.
There's an addendum somewhere that defines the "front of the vehicle" as the leading edge, or bumper for short

Where's this addendum you speak of? Sec. 502.409 of the Texas Transportation Code does not mention it.
