If you dont like the Plates in front
that's actually a pretty cool idea, since i put mine on my dashboard and tends to fall/slide off when i drive.
as for legalities, i live in socal, but my license plate is from washington.. so i get away with a lot of stuff.

I have had no front plate forever, and get pulled over daily for it. That and exhaust, window tint, rear license plate cover, you know the drill whatever they can get you for.
I recently went through this issue though, In Washington the front plate must be "mounted or hung horizontally on the front of the vehicle, no more than 4' above ground.
So when I got pulled over for it, for the second time that day, I was irritated and had quite the attitude, (not recommended) and showed him the printed law, said hey, I dont write the laws I just follow them.
Doesnt help in court when he writes I didnt have ANY front plate, rather than it was improporly mounted, so I would just look up the law for your state and follow it, cause its not worth trying to outsmart them when there is too many crooked cops out there.
Or just dont be an A**, but it gets old being harrased for the way your car looks, rather than pulling me over for doing something illegal, or stupid (80 in a 35).
Like last night I was pulled over in a parking lot of a church or something like 11pm talking on my phone so I was not driving while doing it (which was recently made illegal), cop pulls over right next to me ( i had my nose pointed towards the road in the entry/exit getting ready to leave) waits there for me to end my call and pull back out so he could run my plates and pace me...are you kidding?
But from what most "cool" cops tell me is they like it for stolen vehicles (if you drive past they can catch the first three digits going by and the last three in the rear/side mirrors).
