I've been pulled over and FINED 10 times for having no front plate. (in the state of Maryland). Its $60 each time I get fined, so it hasnt been cheap. I just refuse to put front tags on a car that wasn't meant to have it located there. I've tried this method for a while but it doesn't work. In every state where it is required to have a front tag, if you look at the law, it states that the tag has to been physically mounted to the FRONT OF THE CAR. So while this may fool Joe Smoe idiot pig cop, most cops won't skip a beat and pull your *** over. Your actually better off just not having any type of front tag, and they might mistaken your for a car from a different state that doesn't require a front tag. Sorry for the rant, but I hate traffic cops, I think they are the true scum of the earth.

Thumbs down

Definitely asking for (unwanted) trouble if a front plate is required in your State's transportation code.

Idk if its legal in Tx, but I've been pulled over 3 times and not one cop has said anything. My plate is passenger side near the dash. Louisiana cops dont care much either.

Not legal in NY, actually you can't even have it behind the mesh grill on the front bumper, I got ticketed with that with my previous turbo acura... Since my evo was from out of state with no front plate bracket I just made my own from the bottom edge of the bumper so when removed you dont see holes.

Actually it's a little ticket called "Improper Display of License Plates," I know I got tagged for it. You may be able to get just a warning but who knows.....
