I've never had an issue with it removing paint, but they do sell specific goo gone automotive products that state they are paint safe right on the label. http://www.magicamerican.com/googone...553e21d21.aspx

I had a personal experience with "goo gone" that made me never want to use it again.. I think it was because I left it on too long though.. even though it says wait around 10mins like I did.. it started taking off my clear coat where it ran down my trunk onto my bumper

goo gone could cause damage if you let it sit too long or get a little too crazy with it. I've never personally had any negative effects from it's use on any of my cars. wd-40 also works, but isn't quite as tough.

LakerRaider, I used 3M double sided to rebadge my badge on the trunk.

When I went to take it off because I needed to clean around it; the paint was ruined underneath the badge. Stock badges came off nicely the first time though, after that you should be sure you want to keep em' this time. Maybe it was just me tho.

ok its all done maybe ill post pics on this thread or another.

3m double sided tape was too thick and i dont want the badges to stick out, so i got some 3m trim and emblem adhesive. i guess this stuff is made exclusively for badging. The badges came out clean, the only thin i wouldnt be able to tell you guys is if it messes with the paint after its removed, cuz i havent done that yet but hopefully it doesnt.
