no front plate. was my bad tho: I removed it prior to a track day, as it kind of sits in front of my brake duct intake.

I was pulled over for no front plate, then asked if my exhaust was modified. I told him yes, so he asks me if i know that is illegal, since i didnt want to argue with him i just said i didnt. The way I understand the law in WA is if it is not louder than stock, and the emssions is there, it is legal. I have an RSR 3", so it is a little louder, but cat is still in place.
Also been pulled over for speeding, but as soon as i started saying i wasnt going that fast he quit and told me to go, weird.
State boys here are hard###. Never been pulled by any others.
They always seem disapointed that I am an old guy.

Get pulled over from time to time. The last time the CHP officer asked me, "Are those parts stock?"

He was talking about the wheels and SE body moldings.

About 3 yrs ago got pulled over and recieved a ticket for :

- Modified Exhaust
- Rear View Obstruction ( the big rear wing)
- Illegal body modifications ( again in regards to wing, lowered height, and improper modified venting of the hood)
- Modified Headlights ( HID's are bright?)
- Racing equipment ( FMIC, exhaust, driver/passenger seats.... Recaros are only for race cars it stated!)
- Modified window tint

Well this all happened while I was parked at a Walmart on my cell. I got a phone call and pulled over. As I did this I saw the officer pass in the opposite direction but nothing out of the ordinary happened in my driving or parking. I have the cop car pull up to my drivers side door with his headlights facing me and all blues flashing. I was like WTF is going on here. I got off the phone and turned off my car, windows already down. The officer approached me telling me to get out of the vehicle. He asked where my registration was and I calmly told him in the glove box. He takes that and my license to the cruiser while I stand the for the next 20 min ( I checked had a watch on). When he comes out he asks me if I am in a rush because I checked my watch and stated if so don't count on going anywhere anytime soon. All this and I have absolutely no idea why I was being detained. Thats when I get this whole list of violations I was being charged with. I was fuming but I stayed calm. Then he tells me that the car will probably be towed and stored till this "situation" is resolved in court. I asked if I could use my phone to arrange transportation for myself and he agreed. My best friend happens to be a lawyer as is his father ( my godfather). They both show up with in a couple minutes ( lucky me they were at a restraunt a mile up the road together). To make a long story shorter I got to leave with my car but had to go to court to fight the grocery list of charges and had to submit from the dealership that all said " modifications" came from the factory in that way. I left with no fines and the officer had been put on tempory suspension for having multiple court appearances that were not substantiated which wasted court time and monies. Also the fact I had been harrassed by the cop with numerous phone calls that I have logged ( work phone). An ugly experience and worse than most but yes, OEM parts and uninformed/hot head officers of the law can equal tickets. Whew! that was a trip back to memory lane

interesting thought, if i put on a aftermarket GT wing that the wing plate is as high as the roof of the car (or even higher), so it stays clear from the rear view window completely, can the f****** cops still say "obstruction of view"???

I usually don't have issues with any cops. Hell, I play cards with 2 of them on Thur nights. Always a bad apple somewhere and my friends have admitted some of their coworkers do get off with the authority they have.

I hear that! I've had cops follow me, then pull along side, and I could literally see the sheer disappointment in their eyes as they saw a guy their dad's age. I got snagged for no front plate once. The guy lit me up just as soon as I passed him. In NY, we can't modify the exhaust at all, but he didn't even mention it..

I hear a lot of these stories but it never happens to me. I've had my X since Dec 2008 and have only been pulled over once. My front license plate is on the left side of my bumper and I passed the cop on my right side. So he pulled me over because he didn't see a front plate and when he walked around my car and saw it he let me me go.

I do have an after market cat back but nobody has said a thing to me about that. I guess in NYC these cars don't stand out as much as suburban communities. The thing that pisses me off the most is when cops dont pull over motorcycles that has exhausts that can make your ears bleed. Especially at night when you're sleeping and one these biker a**holes do a WOT driveby. I just want to take a shotgun to their head.

one time when i was going through a seat belt check the cop said something about my front plate, i said that there was no where from the factory to put one but i had ordered a bracket, which was pretty much a big lie, then he went onto saying i should have though about that before putting on a different bumper. i was asked the cop what he was talking about because this was the stock bumper and he said no its not so i said yes it is, that went back and forth for a good 5 minutes, finally i think he just got fed up with me and let me go. haha although i did end up getting a no front plate ticket like a month ago

Seat belt check? Wow - I've seen commercials where they show those and DUI checks but I've never seen one. I guess WA is too liberal for either of those?
