fuel cut?

well I think I am getting fuel. It is a very sudden jerk in the higher rpm. It happens in 3rd gear on up at about 6k usually in the morning when its cooler. What is confusing me though is the only mods I have is turbo back exhaust w/external wastegate dump and ets intake. Ive since installed a walbro 255lph fuel pump and tried resetting the ecu trying to combat this thinking maybe its running lean but it is still happening. I know other people are getting away with alot more mods and no upgrade to the fuel pump, what could be causing this?

When was the last time you were tuned and how much boost did you see before that happened and what are you using for boost control?

I have yet to be tuned there don't seem to be any shops around my location (GA) that id actually bring my car to and get tuned. I do have ecuflash, evoscan and tactrix 1.3 cable but dont really know this software good enough to mess with it I used to have a dsm and had dsmlink but would only make minor fuel changes. As far as the amount of boost I dont know I havnt been able to get the time to install my gauges but it is still running stock boost no mbc on there yet or anything unless the wastegate dump is causing it to spike?

yes it's the dump but it's also the TBE but the most recent info I found is it also might be the ETS Intake something to do with the intake tube design...not enough space from the MAF and then the ECU goes crazy. My suggestion to you would be is to lookup a vendor by the name of Mellon Tuning. You have everything you need to get the car all tuned up for the additions you have. Shoot you have a tactrix cable and the software that is really all you need. Stock ECU tuning for the evo 8 has come a very long way....the stuff we can now do thanks you some really smart people simply amazes me.

i think it is mostly the dump that is causing the a boost spike and therefore causing the ecu to issue a fuel cut. it may be a combination of the intake and dump though. tune should most likely resolve the issue, and even turn ur boost up : ) lol.

Gotta get a good tune for any significant modifications. Sounds like a fuel cutoff
due to the over boost spike at WOT. The factory ECU will cut and reduce, both the fuel and timing table maps to a safe limit until it reverts back after it is reset.
