WE DID NOT BUILD THE CAR.

We had the engine brought to us a yr ago after it ingested a Tbody screw. We rebuilt it and gave it back to the owner.

We dynod the car and it made good hp (500 on pump but we stopped due to the fact it only had a single walbro), and seemed ok, there was no oil leaking on the dyno.

This was a Year ago, so alot could have happened in a yr.

The new owner seems to be mechanically inclined and at 20k it wasn't a bad deal, I am sure the car will be better than ever in no time and up to his standard. As far as the engine there is no warranty but if he needs anything we will be more than happy to offer our services. I have already contacted him privately and given him the history of the car as I know it so he knows what we know.

Used cars...................

Wow that's a Shame. Anytime your buying a car like a Evo stock or modified like this your should always bring someone with you who has expierience in building and tuning these cars.... At the price it sold for that says a lot. Like the owner knew the problem was there, but was inclined to sell the car and perhaps he didn't really care.

WHERE in my original post did I call out IVEYTUNE whatsoever? When I saw the turbo setup, etc I immediately knew it was not Ivey's work.

Take a look at post #9.

Yeah no where did we say that Ivery is responsable in fact we said the opposite and figured this was not Ivey's work.....

What's up guys don't try to start a pissing match for no reason. The fact's are we need to completely re-do this car and it's the owner's lack of attention to detail and overall consideration for doing something right and not just making it work whether it is safe or not.

that sucks man but when you buy a car especially an evo you have to crawl under that thing and check everything.if this is your 2nd evo you should have known this and how people are with them.if you would have simply put the car up on a lift and looked under it you would have seen the poor build quality and probaly NOT bought the car and be in the headaches you are having now.it amazing how people are saying go after the owner etc when it the buyer's responcibility to make sure hes making the right decision.im in no way attacking the op but i hate seeing people ripped off especially when they could prevent it,it not like he bought the car over the net.goodluck with the build you look like you are on the right path and know wat you are doing......

We were given the mod list and it was very hard to see all the parts as everything was very tight in the engine bay. We drove 5+ hours to go look at it so we didn't have access to a lift. We should have looked but with Ivey's name attached to it and it looked OK from the top, the seller seemed legit.....

That's what happens when you trust someone....

I pulled the motor today.

Who would have thought another suprise!

NO A/C! good thing the seller disclosed that as well!

apparently he just yanked the lines when he pulled the motor and let the freon go into the atmosphere. this bolt was finger tight.

Car is so clean LOL (while crying inside)... this is the oil down over the back of the block like i said earlier, you can see it really well now.

regrets.

unfortunately caveat emptor, buyer beware. it is a used and modified evo and whatever price was settled on and you assumed everything should be good, you cannot do anything about it. always check when buying used evo's. GL with the build.
