I have this same issue, usually only happens when it's cold outside though for me. It irks the heck outta me!

are you sure it's the same? it happens to me all the time.. only happening when cold seems to suggest something more mechanical? I dunno. Same sound and symptom exactly? we should see what mods we have similar

Do you know what it is though? Does it come from the same spot?

some things can rattle when its cold and not when its warmed, as the vbrational frequency changes when the car is cold vs warm.

unfortunately it's been tending to be kind of intermittent - that night I took the video it wasn't making the noise until I drove the car over some rough roads, but on Sunday afternoon it was squeaking away no matter what I did. I think the only way to get to the bottom of it is to take the top of teh dash apart.

No idea what it is beside hearing it near the window/dash area. And I barely have any mods. It's just a random squeak when I go over bumps big or small. I even heard it with the car off when I closed the door but that happened when it was cold outside.

Strange. It's coming from the driver's side though right? Do you have either the Trustz gauge overlays or an in dash navigation system installed?

Nope, factory gauges and factory stereo.

hmm well ****. That throws out the theory of it being those two mods I had. It's strange though, if it's something inherent in "stock" enough Evos, why more Evo owners aren't experiencing this same squeak. I'm 100% certain it's in the dash though, and it should be something that can be located and isolated... I hope

After thinking about it more I think that hot/cold thing may have some effect - not of the car, but of the inside temperature of the cabin... squeaked a lot on friday and sunday when i left the car outside, but when the car was taken inside and then driven squeak was not as bad/only happened on bumps...

what the hell is this??!

Kyooch,

I been having the same squeak noise for 3 years. Maybe more since I wasn't keeping track. I always thought it was the metal push clips for the A-PILLAR rubbing against the chassis. But it's not since I took off the a-pillar and the squeak is still here.

Just like you said, the noise is there at any speed and over rough roads. Still have no idea what is causing it. Sounds like it is coming from underneath the dash by the windshield.

Great! Sort of.

What kind of Evo do you have? Year, model etc? It definitely sounds like it is coming from right under the dash on the drivers side near the windshield or maybe right around that vent to the left.

I'm kind of really busy around this time of year but as soon as I get the chance I will rip this **** apart and try to take a look at what exactly is under there.
