evos in canada
I've looked around but I cant find any site that tells me what Evos came out in Canada. Did the previews Evos came out in Canada( 4,5,6,7 etc.)? or they get crapped on like the US and didn't any?
I was thinking if I can buy 5 or 6 and bring it here. a friend of mine was able to do it to a S15. mexico was able go get some am I correct? I thought some people have it there.
Check the Canadian forum.
You can bring any car from anywhere as long as its 15 yrs or older (JDM included, RHD).
You can also import any car that is sold in the US into Canada (with some very minor restrictions). I have a IX in Canada.
Evo X is the first Evo in production and sold in Canada.

Like samurai said, you can import any JDM Evo if it's older than 15 years. Additionally, ever since Canada adopted the US's low-speed forward crash test, VIII's and IX's can be imported into Canada from the US. X's are sold new here.
Sucks to be canadian lol
But on the bright side, when you do get an evo up here in Canada, you will be turning heads
and yes, you can import evo viii and ix, and only the evo x is now sold in canada.
Can some1 tell me why they didnt sell evo viii and ix in Canada? I remember it had something to do with the front of the car, intercooler or something like that :S

The US low-speed front crash test is done at 3mph, and at the time that the VIII/IX were released, it was done at 5 mph in Canada. They passed at 3 mph but not at 5 mph, so they weren't allowed up here. In September 2008 (IIRC) Canada adopted the US's 3 mph front crash test, which made the VIII/IX admissible.
When I used to go to Canada (Vancouver) there were hardly any Evo VIIIs/IXs, a few people had imported them, but now I am sure that they have a few that are sold at used car dealers... My car definitely tuned heads there, especially at the track
Im currently in the process of bringing one in. Im getting it thru a dealership. the car has to go through inspections and has to have a recall letter saying theres no outstanding recalls open on it and all that stuff.
not an overly huge deal just a pain.

I remember when I lived in Toronto 3years ago, I was dying to bring one in. Saw just one with NY plates in my 2years there. That front intercooler test is complete BS. Maybe things changed for ya
lol ya evo 8's & 9's are still quite rare in my city. My evo 9 still attracts attention lol
the down side on having a rare car is you dont have the luxury of good quality shop to do your work or tuning. Luckily theres ppl like 4ws tuning who does e-mail tuning. Our EVO X & new RA community is growing quite well
regarding the JDM vehicles, ya 15 years or older period, end of story
btw, chaotichoax im very impressed on ur knowledge about the evos in canada
