I'm on my 3rd one. I replaced the stocker with an Exedy stage 1 at around 75k miles. That clutch was terrible. Gave me high rpm lockout issues, and didn't last. I swapped it out at 125k miles for an ACT HDSS and streetlite flywheel. love the ACT.

I guess that's not too terrible. I always worried that EVO clutches didn't last very long and it's scary since the labor is insane.. I guess it all depends on what clutch you replace the stocker with.

I would contact your local Lancer Evolution Specialist, such as AMS Automotive in the Chicago area, and ask them what maintenance they would suggest. I'm under the philosophy that preventative maintenance is worth the cost.

it depends on the driver really. I've done plenty of racing, launching, autocrossing, road racing, and general beating on every clutch and got plenty of life out of them. EVO clutches don't last because people can't drive.

I was actually joking with the title of this thread. There's no big maintenance required again until 180k. It'll be time for the 3rd timing belt, and some other things. Nothing due now but fluid checks, etc. I was really just posting to say that i'm coming up on 150k in a IX MR. Still the most miles for a IX that i know of.
