nope. what would be the point in doing that? or do you just not want to push the clutch in to start the car

 

Actually, my switch went bad and the car wouldn't start. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Then I unplugged the clutch/neutral start switch (after talking to a DSM friend of mine) and it started without problem. I just left it unplugged instead of replacing the switch. I'm the only one that drives my car anyways.

 

I'm lazy I disabled it in my ride I love it that way

 

I unplugged mine. I prefer to start the engine with the clutch pedal not pressed so there is less strain on the crank bearings during dry start-ups.

 

The only reason I can think of doing this is to defeat the rev limiter in 1st on the later cars. I don't know why you would do this on a dsm.

Had mine off since Day 1.

 

mine is off to. feels good to start up the car from passenger side once in a while to warm it up durring the cold. i dont ever put my car in gear when parked. sometimes when i let my bros drive my car, they do put it in gear but i usually make sure it's in neutral.

Agreed. Anyone who valets the car for you or if you take it anywhere where someone else could drive it be prepared. They might turn the key with it in gear and not realize...

As mentioned by Kracka it puts less strain on the crank bearings during cold, dry startups when all your oil is sitting in the bottom of the pan. 2G DSMs were known for crankwalk and this was one of the ways to stave it off. It was also a good idea to not have your foot resting on the clutch while at long stoplights. Evos, however have a more improved bearing design and use a different style clutch so they rarely walk.
2G's rarely walk its just an overplayed problem.

I prefer to leave mine plugged in on the off chance someone else that isn't too bright has to move my car - on both my Evo and my 2G.
