Ground cable

Does the ground cable in a evo 8 connect from the ground terminal battery post to the starter?

The post on the starter is a positive lead. There are two posts because its a relay and it simply bridges that gap when its fired. If you put a ground on the second nut it will short out your battery when you try to start it.

The correct spot for the positive lead is the post furthest away from the motor or in other words the post closest to the front of the car.

What he said. Shorting your battery can possibly kill your ecu, so be very careful.

Wait? what? The starter has a positive lead from the battery, it also has a ground which bolts to the transmission case and uses the case as a conductor to ground for the battery.

I think I am missing the ground from the starter to transmission case. This is maybe why I have a slow crank... Good info Josh!
