I owned a 2005 sti for a year and have had my evo for four years

aside from the boxer rumble and honoring of the warranty

there is absolutely nothing else in any category that would make me get a sti over an evo

i haven't had much seat time behind the older sti's but i think they do make better DD. as for build quality since my lack of seat time in sti's i don't know about how they hold up but my roommate has an 08 2.5 and i have seen that thing just start to go to hell buy itself. the center console doesn't latch anymore, the rubber around the doors is going like white? the tranny is loosing its sharpness.

www.iwsti.com is way better than Nabisco but it's only STI's.

Good point about the dealership support. But the Evo enthusiast community is very strong and makes up for any shortcomings at the dealer end.

evo any day, it will be an unending argument. I drove 3 or 4 different STI's and drove my evo for the first time and bought it. totally worth it.

q rack is nice. i had one in my 05 custom spec'd by Tibor. the down side to it is it chews through power steering pumps like crazy. i did like the 10:1 2 turns lock to lock steering with the additional turn in he gave me. the car was crazy fast to flick in and out of corners.
