^ well, i drove a stock STI off of CArmax for a test drive, they feel a lot faster than both my evo 8 and evo X. The big difference is when u just floor it from standing still. That just me i quess.

The feel of TQ is an amazing thing.. The same way a 5.0 Stang feels except it runs 14.5 stock.. LOL

LOL too. Well i have prove to u. My tuned boosted evo8 with 320whp cant beat my cousin bone stock 2007 sti on the highway at 70 mph. We were side by side up to 110mph in 4th gear. There are no shifting or miss shift, both car in 4th gear. What do u think? I am being very honest bro, evo cant beat STi man.

Check the 1/4 mile times for bone stock on Nasioc and then check them here and get back to me.. a 320hp evo runs low 12's..

There's a huge difference between the TQ of a flat 4 and an inline 4, from what i understand it will be easier to make TQ from an engine that has a vertical layout than a horizontal engine. the rotating mass is easier to move up and down requiring less energy to make power, where as rotating from left to right uses more energy to make power.

This is just what i have come to understand in my experiences and could be completely wrong, i also understand that the flat 4's have balance issues given their layout which could cause inline and V layout motors to make torque a little easier.

You should get your evo checked out then, if it really has 320whp and the STI is really stock you should be putting bus lengths on it.

puhahahhahahaahhahah...

fellas i am not a biased individual whatsoever. I came here to simply chime in an experience not start the 2948294972th STi vs evo argument.

I've owned 2 evos and i LOVE evos. I just have my own personal reasons on why i didnt want another 1...mitsu quality, looks simply like a lancer with a wing on it, interior is crap, and i owned 2 so why get another 1? i like to try out new things in life. i rather say i owned 9 diff slow cars, than say i owned 9 evos. Oh and for those who are gonna say "well you've had 3 R1's..." it's because i build and sell em for those didnt read the first post

This is an evo forum so i expect people to love the evo more. I am NOT BIASED whatsoever. i like both cars in their own ways. i am in an sti now because i wanted to try something different and very curious on how the sti stacked up against my evo experiences

and again...the 04's were notorious for spun bearings, not the 05's.

well my buddy has an 05 and hes blown his motor twice.. lol havent talked to him in a bit idk if he stil has the car or has blown it anymore. Anyways you have what you like, and i have what i like so does everyone else. If you went to NOSIAC you would get a bunch of people praising the STI, obviously this is an evo fourm so you know .. all i have to say is ive havent owned an sti but have driven them, i will hands down pick an evo every time. But none the less nice purchase!!

i owned 2 evos , an 04 ' and 08'. I tested drive an 05 STi and love it better than my 2 evos. My next car would probably an 05 Sti. This model look the best compared with others model.
