Yeah i agree with the DD thing. Obviously i like evos better considering i still own one. I did have a 02 WRX before the evo which i had pretty modded and it was definitely a much more comfortable DD. To say and evo is better than and sti or a sti is better than evo is pointless ...like others have said its strictly personal opinion. Each have there ups and downs and your personal taste can lead you to whatever decision you want. I think the whole "this one is faster than that one" is a bit played out. Each car has potential and i mean this in an absolute non bias way but from what ive read or seen (notice i said from what I'VE read or seen) the evo usually takes the cake when in stock form in those "test drive" magazines or shows. However...take a stock evo against an sti with a TBE and a little tune and sure the sti will win.. but that sti will get obliterated but a highly modified evo and then maybe there is a more modified sti that will beat the modded evo...hahaha its an endless ridiculous argument which makes me sound insane and can easily get confusing to read. BTW if your evo is making a buzzing sound you might want to get that checked out.

not trying to start a war, but u guys seriously think a cammed evo sounds better than an sti? get your ears checked or listen again...

Cammed evos

Turboback STi

the sti has a significant rumble that just can't be duplicated with cams on an evo. a cammed evo just sounds like a loppy version of a regular evo

I have no hate towards subarus AT ALL. You can put a catback on a 2.5i and it has the rumble it doesnt have that hint of turbo to it though. The subaru boxers definitely have a nice sound. I think cammed evos sound great and i think cammed subarus sound great. All i am sayin is evos definitely don't "buzz". Civics with ebay exhausts buzz...cars with big exhaust leaks buzz...Evos dont buzz..unless you heard one with an exhaust leak lol. I think, judging by what my evo sounds like, evos have their own 4 cyl sound. I'm catless btw.

My IX RS is definitely much better around the corners, and as we know, with a few bolt ons, you can get the IXs up to 300whp+ easily.

As for the Sti looking better than an evo? I think not...at....all!
i think Sti handle very well in corner too, if not better than evo 8,9

i personally always felt the sti's looked better even when i owned evos.

the thing has more of a rally appearance than an evo. take this for an example...

to the average person, people always thought it was a fixed up lancer, but people seem to recognize my sti as "isnt that a rally car from subaru". That sounds much better than "nice wing on ur lancer"

the sti's are put out there more as a rally car (x-games, WRC, DC shoes, etc) so hands down to an average person - it has a better reputation than an evo.

looks for looks, the WRX impreza itself looks better than a lancer

the sti has more going on with the body as well and its also "fatter" looking than an evo so it looks a bit beefier than the mitsu.

regarding the handling comment - no, the evo wins IMO

i honestly think its all preference, just a side note, it was watching tommi makinen rally the evo when i was younger made me fall in love with this car, also about the reputation, maybe currently subaru has hit a high, because of ken block(btw is awesome) and i wont lie they do put alot of commercials out lol

yet again its all preference.

and i think we all know that the evo DEFIANTLY handles better then the sti stock..

what you watching are race car . We are talking street car with stock suspension. I drove both evos and Sti, i feel Sti handle very well and engine response quicker too.

Folks can gather a picture of your Evolution experience by browsing your past threads and noting the progression that manifested itself within a month's time. Clearly, there's a reason for all this.
