car feels flat

I have a 06 SE with dp cb mbc + tune. I do not have a wide band yet. I had it tuned about three-four months ago.
Car felt responsive and quick. Past few weeks I have had to use it for my comute about 120miles a day sometimes 10-15 miles of traffic. Car feels sluggish and flat recently.
I do have the oem cat still in place could it possibly be soot build up in there restricing the flow? the boost and egt are right where they should be. Exhaust tip is looking very sooty. My education on these cars is novice at best. I have contacted my tuner but have not heard back from him yet. Any validity to my guess? or possible other reasons. Thanks.

I agree it is a completley logical thought. However it just feels different, just reaching out to guys way more familiar with these cars to get some thoughts.

Maybe you are running pig rich and need another tune. Also get a wideband so you can monitor AF. Did you check for any boost leaks? Have you changed your plugs? If not check them.

No on the plugs and boost leak. I will search today to find out how to check for the boost leak. Plugs and wideband will have to wait till Tuesday.

Perhaps it's the heat. My car is similar to yours. There's a noticeable seat of the pants difference between a day like today (~90F) and two days ago (~60F). If the car was tuned by someone competent and the ARFs are a little on the rich side, it's not necessarily a bad thing. How does it feel on a cool evening?

Factory cat could be restricting u more and more as time goes, I hear they are garbage and start to go bad before most cars do.

Tuner is def competent. For sure a safe tune Tuesday I should know the AFR. I'm sure it's running on a bit rich. The heat I'm sure is playing a part. Our cars make just about the same power did you change your plugs?
