yea you really need to get the guage on it. the pressure depends on ambient temperature and if you overfill it you get warm air as well. auto zone has a can for about $30 with a guage and hose. thats a good place to start.

It will only take one can unless...... you have a hole in your A/C line! Then it will take 1 can, green dye all over your engine compartment, 2 hours of cleaning, replacement of hose, and then 1 more can.

awesome. thanks for the info guys, its much appreciated. I have access to a shop and gauge and all that so I will start there. So I am getting from this that I should check the pressure with the the system running, but does it need to be on a particular setting ( e.g 1-4, max a/c, etc...)? My apologies if these are simple questions, I just know absolutely nothing about HVAC, lol. I did see a kit at Autozone that comes with 2 cans, gauge and its a mixture that has a "stop leak" in the even that there is a slight light leak, and its around $50
