oil light flickering...
just got an oil change today and the car is running absolutly perfect, there is nothing wrong with it, idle is perfect it pulls just fine, but when im crusing at about 50+ miles the oil light starts to flicker, the car is still running fine its just the oil light flickers, and when i slow down it stops flicker....anyone have any idea of what it could be??
assuming you used the correct oil...check it after the engine has been running, just allow maybe 5 minutes for the oil to drain back to the sump before checking - that's plenty, warm oil flows freely. Oh, and make sure the car's level.
im idleing fine.....and i think it might be because of im using too thin of oil??? the shop i went to today didnt use 10w-30...and since im in az maybe the oil is getting to thin???
I just had this problem!!!! Go to a local parts store and tell them you need an oil pressure sender for your car. It cost less than 8 bucks. Its located on the back of your block under the intake manifold. It is round and has ridges around the body. Easy as pie to to change. You don't even have to drain the oil out of the engine. When you remove the sensor a very little amount of oil will come from the hole. thank me later! :-) good luck!

Oil light flickering is a idiot light... if its flashing pull over stop the car check the oil level... 1st and foremost. My sensor has 104K on it and no issues what so ever. I check my oil every day just to be safe regardless.

Either...
A) Your oil is low
B) Oil presure sender unit if f*cked.
Like the guy above me stated, its an idiot proof light. You should of pulled over and checked it out right away. What if it was something serious? there goes 3,500 for a new block!

Unless the oil is actually low you can't blame the oil change place for a sensor going bad. The oil pressure sensor is about $15. Just replace it and be done with it.
Thats why I do all my own oil changes... now that my motors built I run 20w50 non synthetic shell oil per Buschur. No issues and stuff is worth its weight in gold.. reason being I can run so thick is b/c winter here isn't cold enough to warrant going thinner.. best part is $35 gets me 12qts
