Oil light Flickers on taking of

Alright so my Evo has this oil light flickering and the rpm drops only when I take off or I just let go of the clutch with no throttle. Also if I'm cruising and I go to a light I drop it to neutral and bam light goes on and idles low then picks back up. The check engine is for random misfire. Has been runing this way for more that 2 years. Some say it's the 5 speed trans form Shep I out in. Some say other reasons . She runs perfect just has this light that's worries me . Please tell me this isn't expensive fix.

How low are the rpm's dropping? Usually if they get close to or below 500, the light will come on. You need to dress the rpm dip. It's either s boost leak, bad IAC motor, or a tune issue...

Most likely just the oil pressure sensor. Change it & will likely correct the prob

Wouldn't it be normal for the oil light to go off if your rpm's drop to low thus losing oil pressure?

correct. but i am trying to figure out why its dropping that low.

If the oil sensor is bad would that cause low idle ??

Yea, the light comes on because your RPM's go to low and oil pressure also dips. Mine will do that occasionally.

You say you don't add any thottle when taking off from a stop. I've only driven a handful of manuals but I always add throttle when going from a stop. I'm sure you could get the car to go from a stop without any throttle if you let the clutch slip longer, thus your rpms not dropping to low and sensor to not go off. Prob wise to always add a little throttle when going from a start.

Correct me if I'm wrong but bad sensor wouldn't make the rpms drop to 500 when going to neutral and bounce back up. That sounds like a different problem.

my problem is when i take off, the rpm drop a little and the light will blink once then go away once the rpm climb back up to take off if that makes sense ? if i let go of the clutch alone slowly no throttle the light will stay on or blink with the rpm low.. before i never had problems like that. id let go of the clutch alone and the rpm may drop but never saw the oil light blink or stay on, like it does right now. ill post up how it goes later on today when i change the sensor and replace the oil.

The oil pressure sensor isn't causing the rpm drop. The rpm drop is causing the oil light to come on....
