idle issues

Hey everyone, 04 evo, 46xxx miles... car idles fine just sitting there but lets say im at a light and i go to drive off and then i have to stop real quick like the guy in front of me doesnt move, the idle drops to 200-400 for a moment and then catches it self and then goes back to normal... def happens if on a hill if im rolling back tthen move forward say a few feet then press the clutch in and take my foot off the gas. Any time under a bit of load. Car runs great other than that. Car does have Cams.

Things i have done...
Cleaned MAF and TB
boost/vac leak test-None
Recirc BOV so that shouldnt be causing it
IAC- tested at 30 ohms ( still might pick up another one for cheap if i can and replace that)
Tuned (Twice). doesnt help and they say everything is fine.
TPS sensor was a little off but fixed that

Running out of ideas. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Mark

Dose this happen with the defroster or A/C on or off. My car dose the same only with the A/C or defroster running.

EGR, PCV, & vacuum control valves all worth having a look at.

Unlikely but possible culprits: Upstream o2 sensor, MAP sensor

This is EXACTLY the same problem that I have on mine. Running the car in open loop below ~1700 rpm helps, but doesn't always fix it, especially if I quickly have to let off like you describe.

I'm still looking for a permanent solution, definitely subscribed to this.

When you say "worth having a look at", do you mean taking out the valves and cleaning them, replacing them, or something else? And which one is the vacuum control valve? Do you mean the IAC?

I've already changed the o2 sensor, so that's not it.

For the PCV, just install a new one since they're so cheap. For the EGR and check valves, yes...clean them out. I'm not sure the exact location of the vacuum check valve in your car, but it's probably a little elbow joint looking thing near the brake booster.

this is interesting, anyone else know of anything else that could cause idle / stalling issues?
