Rotas are definitely an alternative for those who wants to run nicer wheels without the true cost of original manufacturers.

Although I've listed the main reasons I went legit with VOLKS, you also have to realize rotas cost almost the same as Enkei, OEM BBS and some work wheels. You're paying almost $1000 for "G-force" or "DPT", when you can get a set of original quality rims for the same price.

If rota's were $500 a set it would be a different story, but as it stands I don't find them that great of a deal.

Knock offs FTW! Unless you seriously care about the weight of the rim.

Works are NOT the same cost as used OEM's or Rota's. 18 inch Works are the same price as other high end rims (2.5k to 3.5k)

Been running rota torque on my dsm for a while and love them, I think they are the work emotion kia rip off, I could not afford 900 a wheel for a car I drive once every other month.

You can get a set of 11r 17" for $1200 brand new (18's for $1400), rota DPT are $950 new. $250 is not that big of a difference IMO for a legit wheel. I'm not sure where you are getting your prices from but if you are paying 2.5-3.5k for works you are getting ripped off!

I think Rotas are a good value for what they are compared to Volk or Advan. It just comes down to what kind of person you are and how much your willing to waste on your car. If you don't want to spend too much you can still get a good looking rim. Others, however, may want the best and will be willing to dish out for the original stuff. I'm the ladder of the two but enjoy it.

Some get the 64GB WiFi/3g iPad and others only get the Toshiba Handibook, that's just how it goes hehe

The thing I don't like about rota's is that they are exact copies. If they would come up with their own original design that looked decent I would probably buy a set.

For a couple hundred more I ordered rpf1's which weigh almost 3lbs. less a wheel. Although there is nothing original about rpf1's as everyone and their brother seems to have them

That's an extremely good point, I overlooked that. When you see a set of TE/RE/CEs you automatically think Volk and not Rota. If Rota came up with a classic design of their own (ie not ripped off) they wouldn't have this problem.

I prefer to spend that money on upgrading the motor and making it the best i can rather then some wheels. Rota eneki volks whatever its just a wheel. Some people buy 500 dollar watches or even more but thats what they wanted and thats what caught there eye. You make money to spend it so spend it how you see fit.
