this sounds like a "hey trash this car, ill charge him a bunch to fix it and some bogus fees, and we'll both make off with a bit of cash" situation

I would give them the bare minimum to get my car out of there and take it anyplace else. At this point I would imagine a Sears could do a better job putting the car back together, at least they'll stand behind their work.
Agreed. OP, shoot me a PM if you'd like a recommendation for an Evo shop that will take care of you. Good luck.

I'm thinking "the shop" in CT. I've been reading up on them and they seem to have a good customer base.

you are a better man than me!! honestly, if i were you, i would be dropping names like crazy!! regardless if he is a "good" tuner or not, he is OBVIOUSLY in the wrong, and not backing up HIS mistake! and by not saying who he is, you really arent hurting his reputation very much, which you honestly DO need to do if you want to make any sort of impact.... guys like this who get business from referrals and word of mouth, if they get a tarnished rep, will go down in flames! and THATS when (sometimes) they will step up to fix their wrong, not to make you happy, but to get their good rep back! then they can say "yeah, i messed up, but i fixed it".. but by u not letting everyone know who to avoid in the future so something like this doesnt happen to them, then you arent really accomplishing anything except venting on the internet

just imo... expose the bastard

I think its irrelevant saying who did it because there were enough clues for everyone to know who did this. There have been enough bad stories about this tuner and shop that I still can not believe they are in business. If we couldn't figure it out it would be one thing but its not hard to tell, both with the description and the BS this poor guy finds himself in.

Its worth dealing one of the bigger name shops here. Ivey, BR, AWD, JMS, CBRD, Hell if you are on the west coast send your car to ER. It may be a little more expensive but at least you know its done right. Flatbedding your car isn't as expensive as youd think.

Honestly, I wouldn't take the car to a shop that was affiliated with the said tuner. If it were me, I'd load the sucker on a flatbed and ship it to STM. They're not that far from Connecticut. I am the pickiest fruck you'd ever meet especially when it comes to attention to detail. Em (from STM) is just like me in this respect. Your car will come out ready to be displayed at SEMA. If you've seen the Ricer, you've seen their work. There are other good shops, as well.
