Evo 8 stalling

i have a 2003 evo 8, sometimes when slowing down coming to a stop when you press the clutch in the car stalls, not very often just randomly. Ive noticed it more when i try backing up my driveway its on a little slope. It had a service engine light on once for MAF sensor i cleared the code and it hasnt came back. So i searched what i could on it and some ppl said it could be a SAFC causing it has this happened to anybody else

I had the same problem. Turned out the previous owner screwed the biss screw all the way in and broke it. There are a few threads with info on how to check it with evoscan and tactrix cable.

Does it usually happen when you're low on gas?

Only time I've noticed my gas was when it did it yesterday and I was 3/4 full...did it again this morning and I noticed my afc controller had cut off then back on but the car didn't die it just sputtered radio and all still on. So ima check the connection to the afc.

I have an SAFC on my 1g Talon and it would shut off for a second or two and the problem was where the power cord is soldered on the board, somehow it had come loose. I took it to work and opened it up and just ran the soldering iron acrossed and heated up the original solder and it is still holding 1 year later.

It might be your bov if its venting atmospherically(if youre running one). I had the same problem with mine. Get the IX wastegate, you'll be much happier.

usually Vacuum related (vacuum leak, BOV venting to atmosphere on a MAF car) could also be the Throttle body sensors going bad (IAC, FIAV or ISC)

it's basically related to a quick rev and then letting off the throttle, the car is naturally gonna wanna stall when you close the thottle plate and if there isn't enough vacuum to keep it open the car is gonna stall.

I would check the BISS screw on the TB first, thats an easy check...
