Evo wont start!
Evo wont start!
So my Evo has been running fine with the exception that I probably need to change my plugs as when i go WOT it sometimes stutters for like a sec in higher RPM (which im hoping its my plugs). Anyway I havent really got on her at all as its been sitting for 3 days.
Last time it was driven was 4 days ago by my wife to the store which is 5mins away. She said it started right up no issues etc. I go out yesterday to start it so I could run to the gas station and she wouldnt start. Here is a vid of how it sounds.

I was thinking maybe alternator but i'm not 100% sure. Any help or idea's would be fine as Mitsu is saying they have to charge me 100 bucks just to look at it.....

I also say your battery is dead. I have a 03 too on the original battery that I know is going to get one of these days. I would jump it and drive it to Autozone or whatever autoparts store near you that will put a new battery in for free if you buy it there.
If you really want to check the batteries voltage your turbo timer might have a mode that can tell you how many volts your battery has I know mine does. You can see what it says not running and then start the car and see what it reads then. It should read about 12.5 or higher not running if your battery is good and 14.5 roughly running if your alt is good.

Thanks for the swift reply everyone. I just replaced the battery like 4 months ago ><Maybe I bought the wrong voltage from autozone? I have full power/radio/etc I will try and jump it and see.
car batteries are all 12 volts you wouldnt have gotten the wrong voltage. Cranking amps are what change car to car but even so, the evo does not need a big battery. if it was from autozone you have a period of free replacement if its bad..i would go there and they can test the battery (and alternator) for you and if its the battery thats bad they will give you a new one.

So it finally started. Battery power was fine. As I was cranking the car it was sort of stuttering. You could hear it trying to start. So after about 3 tries it finally cranked over. I checked the oil yesterday and I did notice it was low so I added some oil. Odd it was lower than it's ever been.
I've been driving about 120miles round trip every weekend for the last 2 months so maybe that could be why my car is burning more oil then normal? Could my low oil have caused this you think? I'm 1k over my oil change so I'm going to run some sea foam thru her and then get an oil change.

Low oil definitely did not cause this. Doesn't sound like a weak battery to me, usually it will crank slower and slower and slower.
Do you log anything? You said it's missing or hesitating at higher rpm's every once in a while? Maybe you flooded it trying to start it...do you usually hold down the gas when you start it up? Is it running ok now? Other than power cars only really need spark and fuel...something is lacking. You can check both pretty easily, pull the feed line and put it in a cup, crank it to see if the cup gets fuel, and spark you can check when it's running if you have evoscan using the actuators. If not get a spark tester, they're cheap and work great as does the screwdriver down the tube method
