flywheel bolt torque.

hello all,
I'm trying to torque the flywheel bolts, so far i'm able to torque it to 70 foot pound
using a craftsman 1/2 microtork wrench , but getting a 98 is becoming hard without
slipping and stripping the bolt in the process.

by the way I'm installing a fidenza flywheel.

Any one have any tips?.

When I perform clutch installs I had the same issue for some reason. I have gone down to roughly 95 ft-lbs and it works for me.

take and grind down flat the end of the socket so that the teeth grip all the way to the base of the bolt not just 3/4 of the way take a look at the end of the socket and youll see what im talking about

What do you use to hold the flywheel from turning when tightening the bolts?

You have a friend use a 1/2" breaker bar or wrench on the crank turning access at the passenger side wheel well area. (dont know what its called but its what you use to spin the crank)

Don't use stripped/rounded bolts. Take them out and get new ones.
Use the strip of metal trick as mentioned before (the pic is from a 1g but same idea), or a flywheel wrench to hold it steady;
