Fuel Economy

But for normal driving, the Evo isn't that bad, as long as you stay out of boost.
Ya but, u know how hard it is to stay out of boost?!?!?! LOL
well for me ne ways, like boosting is an accident most the time but once its there u just let it keep going...

I have been TRYING to drive a little more conservatively and have also reset the ECU.
LOL...I know it is so hard for me not to get on it every chance I get...however because of that I fill my tank up quite often
But the fun is worth it!
better mileage
I took a road trip yesterday. Went about 380 miles. On the way there I stopped to get gas along the way and managed to average around 24.5 mpg. After that I went up the Mountains into North Carolina, visited my son and returned. After coming back into Atlanta and doing some city driving, I filled it up again and got 22.5 mpg.
The highway driving was around 80 mph (the traffic was travelling at that speed). I did drive smoothly and did not get into thge boost (it was hard, but since my wife was riding with me, it was more prudent to do so...).
Anyway, I think that driving on flat highways at 60 or so mph, the car cab probably get 27-28 mpg..... Not bad for a turbocharged, barely disguised race car

you know what you guys, I've have been averaging 20 miles per gallon but my first time filling up was truly disappointing since I got only 17 miles per gallon. My best mileage was about 23 mpg mostly highway miles.
But what bothers me is that I can from a 2G GSX which I consistently got 23 miles per gallon and 25 mpg for mostly highway miles. So the mpg for the EVo is a little disappointing considering the GSX and the EVo basically use the same motor and all wheel drive. but then you gotta figure when you are boosting on the EVO, its at 19.5 rather then the 12 psi or so of the Eclipse. Add that to the fact the eclipse actually had a larger full tank which allowed the car to go beyond 300 miles on a tank of gas. Still can't complain about the power and drivability of the EVO though.
