Evo IX leaking water on hot track day normal?

Well it's my first hot track day in the evo and after the first session a good drip of water happened for about 10 minutes while the car cooled down. Then it stopped. I assume this is normal since I was running the AC last night, but it seemed to be quite a large puddle for just condensation.

Can anyone give me some insight? I'm just worried it's a water pump issue.

Ya dont be worried about it, that does seem like alot of condensation plus i dont think you would have some the next day but in an engine or engine components there is no water. So its not like oil or coolant, somthing that is vital in an engine.

Edit: also the waterpump runs coolant not really water as its called a "water pump" and you would know if it was bad, one hard run and temps would be off the charts!

OK that's what I figured, so it must just be from running the AC for two hours last night building up condensation. I did think it was pretty weird though as my last two track days it didn't do it, but I think that's because it was much colder. Thanks for the reply!

But if you are tracking your car you should be running water not coolant.

check the level of your overflow. on super hot track days, mine fills up, and there is a vent to the ground it drips out of.

as long as your temps stay good, youre fine.

Pick some up on your finger tips. Coolant contains a lubricant for the water pump so it will feel slippery. Water from the AC just feels like water. Don't burn yourself.

As suggested, check to see whether it's coolant or water. Been tracking my car for 5 years and never seen that, and I'm in Florida. Good luck.
