Alright first off I am located in a county in PA where I have to deal with emissions. So I take my car in yesterday for inspection and emissions and it passed the inspection with no issues but when they went to do the emissions test on my car they said they it could not scan the car to check for CEL's. They said it could be my car has not been driven enough since the last time the battery was unhooked?? I would say it was a month ago since the battery was disconnected and the car has probably gone a few hundred miles since then. Has anyone ever heard of this??

My car is relatively stock... 2005 evo w/ CBE, aftermarket cat, injectors, fuel pump, 9 turbo, and CBRD 3 port and tune at higher boost setting.

I read about other people running into this but could not find anyone with an EVO that has had this happen to them. My car runs awesome and has no CEL's.

Any help is greatly appreciated!! My inspection runs out in a few days and would like to get this taken car of.

 

Check your fuses. When that happened to me one of them was blown and the obdii port had no power.

Don't know if any PBits were messed with in the ECU when it was tuned so that now your showing up Not Ready on OBD II scan for various systems but here is a fix

Only if you were a little bit closer, near the Pittsburgh area, Id be able to sticker your car right now at the dealer

 

@gsrboi - This may be a dumb question but is there a local person that can do that to my car? I really dont understand any of it. I like driving cars but hate working on them.

@chadwick - Thanks for the offer! This should be the only time I have to get it through emissions. The car will go less than 5K a year and will be exempt after this initial one. If i lived 2 miles down the road in the neighboring county I would not even have to worry about emissions...

 

Pa is easy to just buy stickers from people just ask a couple buddies see if they can get you one.

I wish Ca emissions was only an obII scan :-(

typically we dont disable readiness bits unless its requested-

Mmm I hear you man my neighboring counties all dont require emissions as well out here IIRC only Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties require it. But as for getting "lick and sticks" good luck with that alot of the State Troopers that have been pulling over buddies of mine have called down to my service dept asking to see if I "fudged" stickers seems like they are really cracking down on Tech's writing bad stickers well at least in my area
