Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
I'm sorry to tell you this but you got ripped off hard. You live in Los Angelos and Puente Hills mitsubishi will deal with you for MSRP..... and so will Glendale..... and so will Torrance. I was shopping around just last week and yea yea everyone had a markup but jsut tell em you want the car but you wont' deal with markup and they everyone one of thsoe dealers took off their markups in a matter of seconds. Especially Puente Hills as they seemed desperate to sell a red Evo for whatever reason.
ripped off hard huh? $31,600 otd means that eugene paid about $28,700 before ttl. invoice is $28,700 and msrp is about $29,999 according to kbb. so really it seems like he got it for a decent price. definately not a great deal, but i figure if you pay anywhere close to invoice, you did good.
but timing has a lot to do with it... if you were to wait until the end of the model year, you could get evo's for close to $26k before ttl.

Just curious, why does everyone use "out the door" price? There are a lot of things that can change that figure, which makes it difficult to compare two different buyers out the door price. Like value of trade in and the local sales tax rate.

I've been shopping around for the same car in red. The best deal I could find is almost the same 30,441 +TT. It's under the invoice so I think it's more than fair considering all the car you're getting.
There are two reasons I haven't pulled the trigger. First the MR is just around the corner and I think that deserves at least a look. Second I'm still undecided between the EVO and the STI. I've driven both and been over a pro/con list for each car in my head a whole bunch of times. It's a tough decision but a fun process.

Went in again today to take another look at the car. Turned on the stereo system (the upgraded one in the sound/sun and leather package) which sounds pretty good for a stock system.
In the end when I wanted to walk out, the salesman was willing to cut 2k off the price, bringing it to 28,400. This sounds pretty damn good, can anyone confirm getting a fully loaded evo for this price?
I know the 05's are just around the corner, but I don't really see much that will make me want the 05's more then the 04's. I'm not really swayed by the MR version, the only thing that bothers me is the headlights might change. In the 05's, HID and fogs are optional right? Does that mean if I want HID and fogs, I have to order a version that has both of them?

The money was burning a hole in my pocket so I couldn't follow good advice and wait to see the MR. The scooby salesman called me and told they just recieved a black STi so I drove over an hour to check it out. The wife gave me the green light once she how the car looked so I ended up taking it home.
I know the MR will be a nice ride when it hits the streets and I'm looking forward to seeing some first impressions from all the new owners.
The salesman may have been checking to see if you were serious about buying a car or just yanking his chain. Sometimes they will give you a "walk number" if they know you are checking other dealerships and there is no chance that you will take the car from them today. The number is so low that other dealerships won't be able to match it so you waste your time visiting the other dealerships in your area (you can try calling around to other dealerships but they may tell you they can match it on the phone just to get you to come in) only to have them tell you that the number is impossible. When you finally do get back to the original dealer with cash in hand the price will shoot back up. You should have jumped all over a new EVO with sun/sound/leather for 28,400 but I'm sure you will get what you're looking for in the end. Good Luck

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I am interested in picking up an Evo with the sun and sound package. What are the going prices. I'm looking for Blue or White. Any reason to wait for an 05? Any Dealers in here? I visited one dealer today and they wanted sticker. I walked out. I am willing to travel. I am located in NY.
Hey guys,
I've been an evo fan for a long time. I have been considering the evo, but have also been considering other options: Sti, 350Z, S2000, used NSX (early years), possibly the 05 g35 coupe with manual transmission (rumored to have 295 hp). Anybody have any suggestions. Plus the MR, anyone have more info. A bit about myself, I am a senior in high school. Am working to make the payment (pharmacy tech) My dad will insure it, and pay for it and I in turn will pay him. I need the car to last me 10 years at least so I am reallly concerned with long term reliability. (Med school).
Tell me what you guys think.
Also, moderators, you can move this post to wherever it should be if this is the incorrect place. Also, you can IM me at neal540 and talk to me. Any input is welcomed.
