Sometimes my 3 lights are on but that doesnt mean mine is bad...

The acd clutch pack is seperate pieces from the tc ring and pinion gear inside, if a tooth is chipped on either gear or something doesnt mean its going to trigger the lights or blow the atf oil out, itll just make a bad noise

Why are people sitting here saying your t-case is screwed? You don't know... you only know that a situation has transpired that is known to be bad for t-cases. Many people on this forum jump to conclusions about these things FAR to quickly.

My car is whining. OMG UR TCASE IS TRASHED!!!111!!

2. Reliable =/= Liable.

I guess you don't understand how AWD works on these cars...

Why are your lights on? If your lights are on, that means there is something wrong.

After mine got towed on a two wheel towtruck, my acd fluid started coming out of the transfer case and all 3 lights were on. And towing it is not going to chip a tooth its going to mess up the acd clutches. And there will be no noise whatsoever from the transfer case.

people stop bashing the op! the stupid tow company towed his car, I think the op just wanted a little support and advice! to the op just record everything that happened and if your evo's screwed up get those suckers to pay for it or you will have to involve your lawyer.

So what you're telling me is that you know for a fact that his transfer case is destroyed? You know for a fact that if the car moves AT ALL without the 4 wheels on the ground or able to move freely the transfer case is screwed?

I'm just saying that moving it an inch might be ok, moving it 3 miles might be ok, and moving it 20 miles might be ok. BUT Moving it an inch might trash it, moving it 3 miles might trash it, and moving it 20 miles might trash it. Every car is different, and every threshold of damage is different. There are too many variables for you to speak in constants.

Not to mention IN THE MANUAL it says that when the parking brake is active, the center diff is disconnected. Though I must admit, I'm not sure how or to what extent, and circumstance this actually works.

Not trying to flame... I'm just suggesting that the OP doesn't need people jumping to conclusions without actually KNOWING the facts... thats all.

Exactly... his car got towed. He may have been in the wrong, but people make mistakes. It will be difficult to get the tow company to pay for it, but you should certainly still excersize your right to persue them legally.

This is an excellent reason to move away from Jersey, they don't tow your car for expired registration here. Sounds like you've got some real ****'s up there.

update: (op is a friend)

Car seems to be ok, some scratches were put on the cars door handle and some of his stuff was stolen from the vehicle, lawyers contacted, (got this info over the phone). Car is registered to his parents former business so i am sure something got mixed up in the mail for renewal letters.

Also for the people who like to make assumptions, in NJ as far as i remember the moment the registration becomes expired ur car can be towed because it can't be out in public. (some cities are more strict than others) regardless NJ sux and i need to leave this state again asap.

Doesn't the hand brake have to be disenaged for them to even tow the car or do they just drag it with the parking brake engaged.

I would think it would've been lifted in the rear if the p brake was engaged. Sorry to hear all this. What a headache.
