What really? I feel like breaking into the car is excessive... but what the hell do I know?

If I were going to tow a car, the parking brake wouldn't stop me... its simply to prevent the car from rolling away, not being forcefully moved. A tow truck could out drive a parking brake all day long.

Well it depends on what he means by break into. I'm sure they didn't break his window.

Tow company and/or city is liable. They have the right to tow your car, they DO NOT have the right to damage it in the process. Body and cosmetic damage might be hard to prove. Though they are still liable, it's really your word vs theirs. A damaged AWD transfer case as a result of being towed on two wheels is pretty indisputable. A buddy of mine who does towing officially for the NYPD won't even bother to touch AWD/4WD vehicles because they don't use flatbeds.

Ok I got my car back and its been a couple days and like 500 miles later, still no unusual noises. Lucky me i guess, I set the parking brake with the ignition and engine on so it may disable the ACD lockup. IDK if thats true. Bottom line The car is scratched. I am also missing my USMC KA-BAR my Ipod and My tom tom. The Valentine one seemed to miraculously remain in the car???? I guess they don't wanna take to many things as it may arrise suspicion.. Well i am gonna lawyer up and go after everyone cause i have a lot of extra money and time to do so. Also i am *******. Im pretty sure i can get my insurance to fix the scratches, and i might get a couple tow trucks.

Why is the car registered under the parents?

You have a lot of money or your parents do?

Get the car in your name, get the notices at your place, get off the parents teat and there is a good chance this will not happen again.

Good luck on getting your tow trucks.

The man always wins. Pay your fines and move on. Your lesson here is that you need to play by the rules.

If youre hinting at me being a spoiled brat you can ask anyone of my friends. My mother owns a business here and its cheaper on insurance to just have the vehicle insured by the business. And i guess sarcasm doesn't work well over the internet that Lawyer up line was sarcastic. Im not gonna do that.

Sorry I just think if you are going to be driving the car you should be paying for all of it under your own name. It is called being an adult. If you are not doing that then yes you are a spoiled brat.

Do I sound like a jerk? Sure. But it is called real life and paying your own stuff.

It was almost not an issue until you posted the going after everyone because you had the money and time.

If you really had the money you would not be relying on your mom to have the car in her name to get you lower ins.

Seems the shoe fits just fine.

I never said im not paying for it. My mom and i just have it under the business name to get the price lover. And by lower thats $3000 a year from about $9000 every 6 months if i were to insure it myself. I do pay for the insurance. I think you don't completely understand. I'm not some little kid with an evo, i saved up money since i was 17 for a car, and my friend SkylineRacer is who turned me onto the Evo. My mother told me I didn't need a fast car (she's right) so she wouldn;t buy a car like that for me. The last thing my mother has bought me has been dinner when i was 18. Also, i own part of the business so yeah technically it is in my name. Since i was a little kid i have known to be more responsible than most "adults"

I am not arguing that i wasn't at fault that the car got Towed, I didn;t realize that the reg expired and i never renewed. Its not my mothers job to renew the registration on my car, and you can clearly see that she didn;t do so.
But what i am upset about is that the Tow truck driver was informed by me that he shouldn't be towing the vehicle in that manner and he continued anyway.

I figured posting here and sharing my story with other people who actually care about cars would help ease the pain and aggravation but have some punk call me an immature brat is just as frustrating having my car impounded. Get a life dude and stop jerking off to photograph of car engines.
