FP FAP Flow Advanced Port Cover -- Just ordered

So I have been trying to break into the 400whp/wtq on the stock turbo and stock cams. The car is right at the 380 mark at 28psi. I just cannot get it to go any more. If I add timing I see very small gains, and if I add boost I see small gains also.

Now from the results I have seen with the FAP, it seems that I might not make more peek hp/tq, however I might get a fatter power band. So if I can increase the spoolup and fatten the power band I think this thing will be worth its weight in gold.

I will have some VDR action next week, the FAP shows up on Monday.

After I do the FAP, then I send out my Intake manifold to MAP for some porting. If that still does not get me where I want, I will finally buckle and put some cams in the car.

Does anyone else have results with the FP FAP?

Figured I would add a pic.

Does TheBoz's Evo VIII have a ported TB? Did he do an IC upgrade? If so, which one does he rock? Who tunes TheBoz's car? Are you gonna do the Rev3 IM? Are you running an O2 dump as well? Although it is not the best bang for the buck mod, a ported cylinderhead would get you really close to your goal of 400 on the stock turbo and cams.

Ported TB == Nope
IC == ETS 3.5
Tuning == Done by me, and only me I will never let a tuner touch my car ever again(Except DB )
Rev3 == Nope the Rev 2 is perfect for what I need
O2 Dump == Yep, the JMF one

I am going to give up on my quest to keep the stock cams, they have gone about as far as I can make them go. I will be going GSC S2's pretty soon here.

I would say the main reason for the FAP is for the sound. God damn does it sound cool as hell. I am not sure what the gains were from the FAP becuase I bolted on a lot of other parts at the same time. I can tell you that my car drives much better, I dont get any compressor surge anymore.

HHIX
The price of cams did not prevent me from getting them, I was just trying to push the stock cams as far as I could. Also I would recommend the FAP to anyone running a stock turbo. If you are VTA the FAP will help a lot with that 5th gear freeway surge that always happens.

GdotRegEvo9
I am going to finally give up and go cams.

Did you do all these mods at one time? If so, how are you gonna show the gains from just the FP FAP?

Also, if you were at 380 and just did all those mods in one round, then you should be able to hit 400, IMO.

When I ordered the FAP I was only going to do that part. however once I had everything appart to do the install I opted to do more. It kinda blew the testing of the part out. That is why I did not put any specific numbers. Tried to keep it as generic as possible.

For referance I use the MD setting because it seem to be better for me.

The car at 32psi is just insane. On VD MD Setting(412/415) VD DJ 473/477.

Here is my thread with the parts and gains from the parts:

I also fixed my boost profile issues by ditching the EBC and going back to MBC. Now my car has a very nice boost profile. I am working on getting my dyno time in December so I can confirm numbers. Just waiting to hear if a slot is open for me.

You really need to do some cams. Besides the MBC, that will have better bang for your buck than anything you've done so far, imo.

i dont have numbers but i didnt really notice a difference besides the awesome sound. Very doubtful this will break you into the 400whp area but the sound is worth the money.
