As far as STi VS EVO in snow I would suspect the STi is marginally better due to the extra limited slip diff up front, and the softer suspension. The suspension makes a lot of difference in snow handling with softer being better. The slower stearing would also be a benefit in bad weather conditions.

I read this and thought..
Yeah, right on. Makes sense..
I think the STi would be better in the snow..
Is it possible the EVO is a tarmac designed car and the STi is designed as a rally car first??

The EVO is pretty much set up almost like a rally car in tarmac trim from a suspension and wheel/tire standpoint. The STi also has very sticky tires that would suck *** in snow or gravel conditions....it just isn't taken to as sharp of a handling edge. It is set up for tarmac, but with a little more comfort dialed into the mix.Keith
