Fog light question
Just picked up my evo 9 today. Only thing wrong with it is that the fog lights come on no matter what and cant turn them off. Is this a module add on? Or is there just a broken fog light switch. They even stay on with high beams... Which seems like they would go off even if the switch was bad when the highs came on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hopefully they didnt butcher the wiring.

Thanks. Looking at the wiring diagram for the fog lights, I can see how to do this with changing only one wire. But then the lights would be on all of the time - in other words, no way of shutting them off short of disconnecting the battery. Oh, it would be sick if you could just change a setting in the ETACS. But, I see no adjustable settings for the fogs in the service manual.
And, yeah, the above mod (or something like it) could have been done to the OP's car.
To the OP: The lights go off when you turn the ignition to off and open the door. Do the fog lights also go off then?

My original post wasn't super descriptive. When I said always on. I mean on with parking lights, low beams, and high beams. But when all is off they are off.

Close the door and start the car and the lights automatically come back on, all except the fogs. The ETACS resets them to off and you have to hit the switch again if you want them.
So, the switch stuck to on could maybe do this but the relay stuck to on wouldn't do this (a stuck relay would cause them to always be on). So, if the switch is okay and your car hasn't had some wiring modification I'd suggest it is the ETACS.
