test drive went wrong..
Drain the transmission fluid. Then I'd remove the black cover on the bottom. I believe it's held in by 6-7 small bolts. I had a similar problem, opened up this cover and found a broken shift fork in there. Just a little help...

this may very well be my problem if removing your engine means draining tranny oil or i may have driven with no oil...il check this tmrw i sure hope im not that stupid.
Not stupid. I remember one of the top guys we have on this board taking his car to the track with no oil in the transfer. It happens. I'm just saying check the easy and obvious first.
UPDATE** okay so i took off the oil drain plug for my transfer case and what do i find? not a drop of oil
on the plug i found very thick grease with a bunch of metal shards in it so im assuming my transfer case is toast
. would anyone know how i should proceed with the repair process? and is there anything else that i could have damaged when driving without the transfer case oil? il post pics as soon as i can...

Well, I suppose you could fill it up and pray for a miracle but if it was dry enough to stop the car the thing is burnt toast. So, ship it off to one of the rebuilders in the states, buy a new one or shop for used.
Not wanting to wait, I once ordered a new transmission for my now gone DSM. The dealer had it drop shipped from the Mitsubishi warehouse and it was on my door step in four days.
I don't know how this all works for parts you being in Canada.
