This isn't my only car. Mainly just gets driven on nights and weekends. It is nice to have the comfort of ac on those hot days. But I would also hate for it to seize up on me again, but also doesn't seem like a huge weight savings or hp gain..

Its not your only car, saves weight and gains a few hp! drop it. thats why you have windows. roll them down for some cool air. wish you better luck at your next track day.

If you don't mind not having A/C on those hot humid summer days sitting in traffic then by all means...
Not necessarily, I will be going FF and will be keeping my AC. A few people have done it, all you need is a civic AC condensor and a little bit of fabrication on the hose side.

I would personally keep it. If its a car you drive on the street, day or night or even on the weekens. I would still keep the AC.

The only reason why I haven't taken out the AC in my Evo is to keep the car intact, and for the defogger function (to a lesser degree). I hate it, never use it. On a hot day, I roll down the windows and go faster.

I deleted my a/c system. I removed the compressor, a/c bracket, a/c high and low psi lines, condensor and condensor fan. I plugged the a/c lines that go into the firewall with the sticker cover from stm. I bought a gates belt from napa that was shorter, I forgot the part number but it fit pretty good.
IIRC, total weight savings was around 25 lbs or so. I mostly did because my evo is not a daily driver and I never used the a/c much. Front end did feel lighter when I took it back to the track after I had deleted the a/c. Best way to describe it as just not being as front end heavy in the turns. While it was noticeable, it wasnt anything super drastic. I know its not a lot of weight, but those 20 plus pounds are at the nose of the car. Plus, I figured by removing the condensor I would be able to also get more airflow to cool the radiator as well.
The ONLY thing I will miss on my a/c is the full benefit of the defrost function.

I wil say that if you do decide to remove your AC, keep every component intact and ready to go back on, as AC will make or break a sale for a plethora of people in the market for an Evo. Just something to keep in mind.

Yeah definitely agree! If I do, I will keep everything just in case. But I plan on keep it forever
