I have an 05 GSR w/ SSL. 12, 200 miles.
Buschur stg 2 w/ BR FMIC, AMS LICP, Greddy Ti, Exedy twin, Defi BF EGT and Boost gauges, Defi HUD, Blackout headlights, MR taillights, vortex gen, Perrin shorty, JDM 9 rear bumper, Work XSA-02c 18x8.5 w/ Toyo t-1r 235/40-18 (1200 miles) Tein flex coilovers w/ EDFC.
And some other things I am forgetting.
My question is how does this affect my resale? I have a mod friendly dealership local to me (so warranty is good, no black flag). I have NONE of my stock parts (except for stock rims/tires)
Any constructive comments are appreciated.
Thanks

it helps resale, but not by nearly as much as you probably spent...they might give you a little bit more money, but dont tell a dealer that you dont have the stock parts...you have to make it sound like HE'S getting a deal by you leaving performance parts on it
Would you buy a modded Evo from a dealer? Look at from the buyers point of view. Me, HELL no! A modded evo at a dealership would toss all sorts of flags on the play IMO.

I would never buy a modified car over one that's stock. I'd assume that anyone who's modifying their car is also beating the crap out of it. Not to mention that who knows if the modifications in question were installed correctly. Everyone I've ever known that bought a used car with modfications to it ended up having problems with it. Look at collector cars. Everyone wants original.

I'd say that if you're selling it privately, like to another person on this forum, then they help. The guy buying your car would appreciate what you have added.
But if you're trading it in with a dealer, they're going to hurt. Mainly cos dealers want main steam cars which mean stock.
Perhaps it works differently in the US though.
edit: I am assuming, of course that your mods are installed properly/professionally and at 12,200 your car isn't all the knackered.

Yea you can get more for it with Mods from a private buyer look at it this way thats money they wont have to spend down the road. I would by a modded car and my friends have bought modded cars all have had no issues. Just have to check the car over. Somtimes people will but the car and start modding it than figure out that they cant afford it and get rid of it. Thats the car you want to buy.
I look at all used Evos very closely, whether they are stock or not. Everyone I've ever heard of that sells their Evos returns it to stock trim. So you just never know -- the only thing you can do is go over the car very carefully. After being slightly burned once on an Evo, I was careful the next time around.
That said, I don't think that it hurts your resale value to leave the mods on the car. It doesn't reduce the value, if you are equating the value to KBB price. However, it does if you take into consideration what your performance parts are worth in the private classifieds here on evom. Since you don't have stock parts, though, I would not bother to return to stock, except for the rims...

This is basically what I had on my 04 STi, except I had the 3"tbe, Nismo 550 injectors and the defi gauges. I sold the car in May of 05. I owed $28k, it had a book of $24.5k with 13k miles and I was able to sell it for $32k. I think I was in my "APS Package for a bit under $6k (bought most parts on-line) and you can see I lost a few grand.
The guy who bought my car knew I didn't beat the hell out of the car. He actually talked to the guys at DynoCOmp before he bought the car. If you go down the modded path and want to sell it, you will need to find the right buyer. I am in the car business and I know that mods DO NOT give you value. Even with over sized rims, you get an additional $300-$500 though you might have paid a few grand.
The EVO is a very "Soft" car in terms of holding its value. I saw an 05 with SSL and the dealership was in it for $24.5k. This was last year when the remaining 05 EVO's had a rebate. When you do decide to sell it, I would list it here in the autos for sale section.
Lastly, I would suggest that the stock parts never get sold. That way, if you weren't able to sell it with the mods, you caould make it back to stock and then trade it in and sell your parts afterwards.

You're kidding right?
EVO had the best resale value of any sedan last year. I've searched for used evo's and they hold their value exceptionally well.
