I too would have to say that I think your price is a bit high. Last May I bought mine for 26K with 13K miles and TBE, Greddy BOV, HKS RS Intake, and Turbo Timer car also has a sun roof. But Lighting Yellow isn't the reason it is not selling (see avatar) lol.

Trust me your cars will be worth quiet a bit. KBB is doing a long term prediction.

Example: 99 eclipse GSX does not sell for what KBB says it is worth. In fact in some cases it sell for twice as much. For the few who purchased the MR will have great resale values 5 years from now. You can't judge the over all value of the car just based on KBB. It's all about supply and demand.

Now if you think the Evo has a bad resale, go buy an STI and see how much you will lose.

Carmax and (most) dealerships will be selling at around $2-$3k more than you can realistically expect for a private sale.

Hang tough for $26k and you may get lucky (you would need to). If you don't, you could end up making a LOT less than that in a few months time. It's a big gamble on your part.

Man, you should sell it in Texas. I see 03's with more then 20k miles or so being sold for $26k all the time. A dealer in Austin just sold a BBY '03 with 30k miles on it for $26,500. Also CarMax sold an '03 Rally Red with 25k miles on it for $27,000.

Maybe those dealers are offering "attractive" financing deals that the buyer couldn't otherwise secure on a private purchase. Sorry, but anyone paying those kind of prices for an '03 Evo must be soft in the head.

car color

I agree ... it is the fact that it is YELLOW:P On another note. there is a black 2003 with 5300 miles here at a dealer for 21,000 and they haven't sold it either.

i think it depends on location...i know i can sell my 05 back home in dallas faster than i could in lets say a town of 100k ppl or less. Most ppl in that small town dont have a clue what the car is. So there going to mainly see it as a flashy 4 door car...put your car in a major city paper even if its 100 miles away..

You aren't a dealership man. Why would you think you could sell your car for retail just because a dealership does. Private party prices are 2-3k lower than retail prices, so I don't know why you think you can sell it for so much. Again, the mods you have do NOT increase the value of your car...if anything, they DECREASE the value.

reason you cant sell your car...your asking too much for it. I got my 05 for 29.5 otd. Why would someone buy a used 03 for 26?????

Also, part out your car. Youl prolly get somewhere in the area of 50% of your mod money back assuming the parts are in good condition. Also, your customers are concerned the car is beat to crap and wont last long...do anything you can to calm their fear. Let them drive the car, tell them how you modded it but (hopefully) didnt beat the crap out of it. Most importantly, be forthcoming and dont lie.
Good point. I think a few people here don't grasp the fact that the Evo isn't really that special. 26k for an '03? Must be a Mercedes or Bimmer.

It might be the color...when my wife first saw the evo she said " Yellow? why yellow?"
I wanted to sell my evo too, but decided against it for all the trouble it will be...unless you find some rich kid at the local get togethers that wants to buy it cuz he likes it.

Zectasy, congrats on your new addition to come, you'd do better with the evo, the wrx has a tiny rear seat. Baby seats are pretty big and will be a tight squeeze for your wife as well in that small wrx rear seat and narrow entry.

Its definately the yellow.. Its just way to bright lol Im sure there are certain people that are intrested in that.. but silver black red and white are much more popular.
