It will never be all that you want it to be...
Actually, I wouldn't mind a Superlite Coupe in matte black.
No internal body panels, and just stupid freakish speed. I doubt I could build the one I want without dumping like $80k though.

ah, u shouldnt have driven the porsche ahah. now that you have, its hard to compare. logically speaking, most people cannot afford a porsche gt3rs with their salary and be comfortable with a house and all. So your m3 and evo combo is a better choice. Thats actually what i'm aiming for. but since u've driven the porsche its going to be hard to get it out of your head now. So, thats y i've been really careful with driving other peoples cars that are overly priced compared to mine. So that i wont get the feeling that my evo wont stack up ahaha. words of a broke college student :-(
I base my enjoyment on a scale relative to the car I'm in. I do not then take that scale and hold it up to other, relative scales, as it only serves to do the lesser car a disservice.
You will probably be chasing ghosts forever, as there will always be a "better" car in your eyes.
Also, I think the performance to dollar ratio in the Evo is far superior to other cars including exotics. That does not mean an Evo will have faster lap times, it's just a lot of performance for the dollar.

Just wanna stoke the fires here:
It's ironic as hell to me that many people here will talk about the importance of "getting what you pay for," but can't apply the same philosophy when comparing a gt3rs and an evo. The motor of the gt3rs itself costs more than an evo.
I got to go for a ride in the new 2023 911 Carrera S last weekend (not even a gt3rs); there is just no comparison. I've been in"faster" evos, sure. You could also hear them coming from a quarter mile away, had to drive 40 miles to get a tank of e85, and had the interior of a lancer that rattled like hell. Cringe all you want, but that's a Lancer interior with Recaros. I owned a Lancer before the Evo. The interior was *very similar*. Take away the adrenaline of the Evo and it loses it's "functional" charm quickly. It's just cheap. Furthermore, the owners were sweating bullets very two years when it came time to register get the vehicles safety and emissions done. That may be ideal for some, and thats fine.
I love my car. It's great, but it's not sophisticated. That's also not necessarily what I was looking for when I bought it. For me, it's about managing expectations. It's what I could manage to take to the dance, and I'm not ashamed - same as you guys. Lots of people can make Hondas go faster than many Evos or Porsches too. To steal the old line though, "It's not how fast you go. It's how you go fast."

It all depends what you are looking for. I couldn't buy a GT3rs for multiple times what I have in my evo. My evo will demolish it around a track and be less costly to maintain *shrug*. For my priority list evo>gt3rs. If picking up girls in your car is on your list of priorities, you might have a different view.

edit: That being said the 4.0 GT3RS is a beast... just too expensive.

If one is running a car whose aim is to beat Lambos and humiliate V8s (like anyone aside from a few 12 year olds on Youtube really gives a sh/t), you'll always be disappointed. Sure, you'll be happy for a month or two, right after the latest build, but then it starts all over again. It's the nature of the beast; there's no way to come out ahead (pun intended). There's always better, bigger, and faster right around the corner. It's the same in virtually every other walk of life, whether you're talking audio equipment, business suits, or prime meat. I know it's a cliche, but it is true: happiness comes from within. If the car is forcing you to quantify its existence in comparative terms, well, the odds are the next one will, too. FWIW, I love the GT3.
