So glad I read this thread! I went out and cleaned my sensor after reading, and now finally after months and months and pulling hair out, my car hits 11:1 afr at red line, and not around 12.5~13.5:1 (yes you read that right).

A huge sigh of relief. It wasn't even that dirty - nowhere near as bad as the photo's in this and the linked thread!

that picture is after like 20 min of spraying my maf lol. only half the gunk is in that picture... but no before the install it was the stock intake with a cone on it not the box. the cone was rusted to hell tho....

after install of my perrin my tune got all messed up. my AFRs at WOT went from 10.9-11.2 to 11.8-12.5.... and i cant get retuned cause i need a clutch lol

Dude its cause that filter is mega crappy....looks like oil, salt, dirt, small animals made it thru that so called filter. Ok now spray the maf again douch that thing and carefully use a old toothbrush an scrub.....dont hit the little diode thing in the main intake track box area. Repeat until clean...maybe use some lightly compressed air also.

Ps...the perrin filter will come soaked with oil...so you may have to do the maf cleaning soon again so it dont get as bad as it is now.

Give her hell!

Jesus, your maf looks terrible, I don't think I've seen one that bad before! CRC is the stuff you should be using. After you spray the CRC stuff in there try wiping out that crap with a paper towel, BUT make sure to not damage the honey comb or touch the little orange sensor in the middle.

I type slower than you I guess, haha. Yeah, the Perrin filter comes pretty oily...I wiped my perrin filter with a couple paper towels to try and soak up as much of the oil as possible before I installed it.
