How long ago did you sell it? One of the guys from my area flew out to CA when he sold his previous WW IX and bought another one, hahaha

No problems. Car was pretty much stock when I got it 3.5 years ago. You shouldn't have any problems buying used. Just be thorough.

Only mod it came with was an aftermarket unknown 02 housing. Never had any issues other than having to remove some stupid stickers that were on the rear quarter panels.

Exactly this. You have to know everything about the car. If the owner is reluctant to tell you something, you must assume the worse.

Bought January 2011. 26K miles, IX MR-SE.

All I know is... when you buy one of these things new, you should be forced, at gunpoint, to sign something that says "I will take proper f*ing care of this thing and I will not take stupid shortcuts that the next owner will just have to undo and want to kill me for taking."

I think the owner profile has changed, perhaps less so than the numbers would suggest. We now have a somewhat volatile mix of owner perspectives: On one hand, we have the original owners and those who bought used Evos sometime ago, all hanging on to their purchases for the long term. OTOH, we have many who are buying lower priced cars, some almost ready to be scrapped, just to be decorated or raced or whatever. None of them will survive the next 3-4 years.

[OT] Is there another platform in existence where it isn't unusual to see 5-6 owners in a 4-5 year span, each modding and beating the crap out of the car? I honestly don't know of one. In part, this is what makes all this extremely interesting. [/OT]
