It's official... the Evo is on it's way!

Hey guys,

It's official. The Evo is on it's way up from Florida to NY!

It's not mine though. It's my dad's. And he's already bugging me about how slow my mk4 R32 will be compared to it lol.

The shipping company sent us some pics so I thought I'd share. Hope you guys can welcome a couple of VW fans into the Evo family. (And hopefully I'm not posting this in the wrong forum lol)

(We have no clue what that white thing on the steering wheel is...)

Here's the list of what it has according to the seller. Didn't include which exhaust or wheels it has though so I guess we'll find out when it gets here.
-AMS Intake Manifold
-AMS Intercooler
-AMS Intercooler piping kit
-AMS Exhaust Manifold
-AMS GT35r Ball Bearing Turbo with V Band back housing
-Tial blow off valve
-Tial 44mm Waste gate
-HKS DLI
-WEISCO PISTONS HD with heavy duty rist pin 9-1 compression
-CROWER RODS
-MANLEY BILLET CRANKSHAFT
-ACL RACE BEARINGS
-ARP ROD BOLTS
-ARP L19 Head Studs
-EVO 8 Block bored 20 over and modified
-New oil pump
-New seals and gaskets for entire block
-AMS Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit
-New OEM Crank Sensor
-FLUIDINE Crank Pully

Head:
-Super Tech Springs and Retainers
-5 angle valve job
-Resurface Head
-New valve seals
-Custom valve guides
-Cosworth cams
-Adjustable Cam gear
-OEM head gasket
-Custom high pressure oil line for MIVEC
-New gasket and seals for the entire Head
-Exedy Twin Disc Clutch
-AEM 5 Bar Map Sensor
-AEM Engine Management
-AMS FUEL RAIL and Fuel Pressure Regulator

I didn't capitalize any of those... that was all copy-pasted haha. I barely know what any of that means since, in typical VW owner fashion, I just know how to do bolt-ons and lower my car. Hopefully it's good though!

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, lemme know! Thanks!

And here's a pic of my R32 since I can't resist the urge to ***** it out. The Beetle behind it is one of the cars that my dad's getting rid of to replace with the Evo.

Nice pick up. Seems to have a ton of mods already.

I'm a VW guy myself. I drive an 05 GTi as my daily and my Evo is the weekend car. Welcome aboard.

Welcome, and I hope the car treats you well! its a nice mods list. My only concern would be for the strength of the 6-speed with all that extra power its putting down. I'm sure you guys will love it.

Hopefully! It seems like the deal he's been looking for for quite a while haha. A few years ago he came so close to buying an '03 VW Beetle that was tuned by HPA Motorsports and had a haldex AWD system installed along with a 3.2L twin turbo. The deal wound up falling through because the dealership that had it decided they wanted $3k extra instead of what they had agreed to the day before over the phone. This definitely seems like it'll be even better than that would have been though!

Thanks! We've heard about the 6-speed not being as strong as the 5-speed but hopefully it'll hold up haha. Neither one of us are really too harsh on our cars (my friends say I drive like an old man lol) so hopefully it'll hold up to just an occasional good time.

The one thing he hates about it is the wheels haha. He either wants to get them repainted or traded asap. I've been trying to sell the BBS RS-gt's on my R32 (I love them but I've got a set of RSii's I love even more lol) for a few months now and nobody has given any good offers yet but I came across a set of Work Equips that are 5x114.3 18x9 et32 and 18x10 et32. I'm gonna have to research and see if they'd fit but if they do, I think I'll try to trade the guy. I figure it's the least I can do if my dad's gonna let me drive the thing!

Nice choice of vehicles!

That evo will more than likely be the fastest thing youve ever driven.

Your R32 looks great. My GF is a euro fan, and had a VR6 GLX with exhaust, and the engine noise was just glorious. We checked out R32's, but werent able to find a well priced one. She ended up going with a 350Z.

Good luck, I hope the car is all you want it to be!

I'd learn the ins and outs of what "high" setting is and if it needs to be on higher octane or what not prior to pushing that puppy... had one on my friends turbo regal.. low was 15psi and when he pushed that button the turbo woke up at 42psi
